Evolution of Oriented Crystals of Polypropylene for Capacitor Films Subjected to High‐Temperature Stretching

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, EarlyView.
This study compares the stretching structural evolution of two iPPs with distinct isotacticities. Deformation from spherulite to fibrillar crystal induces rapid thickening of lamellae (Lc), reduction in amorphous thickness (La), and transverse dimension (Lh).

STUDY ON LIFE PREDICTION AND FATIGUE TEST OF ZM6 MATERIAL WITH IMPACT PIT

open access: yesJixie qiangdu, 2021
The smooth specimens, notched specimens and impact crater specimens of ZM6 material were prepared. The fatigue test of these specimens was carried out,and the fatigue life of these specimens under different stress levels was obtained.Based on the theory ...

Boltish Impact Structure and its impact-melting rocks

open access: yesГеофизический журнал, 2011
The Boltysh crater in the central part of the Ukrainian Shield is a complex impact structure composed by a deep inner crater with a central uplift and a peripheral depression.

Interfacial Energy and Composition Controlled Self‐Stratification in Polyurethane Coatings

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, EarlyView.
This study elucidates self‐stratification in polyurethane coatings driven by interfacial energies and composition‐dependent phase separation. Using XPS, SIMS, and Raman analyses, we reveal rapid formation of hydrophobic and hydrophilic layers and substrate‐dependent interfacial structures.

A Peridynamic Framework for Modeling Progressive Failure in Porous Sandstone Indentation

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical and Analytical Methods in Geomechanics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A state‐based peridynamic model is proposed to simulate the failure mechanisms in porous rocks, using Bentheim sandstone as a specific example. Experimental observations reveal a transition from brittle to ductile failure under increasing triaxial compression. This behavior is attributed to pore compaction. The peridynamic model is enhanced to

Bilateral symmetry of circular impact structures of astroblemes [PDF]

open access: yes
The relief of the true crater-bottom and the distribution of impactites and allogenic breccias for the Popigay and Kara astroblemes is examined. It is shown that the crater morphology and the distribution of ejecta of fragmented and melted masses has a ...

Radiometric Constraints on the Timing, Tempo, and Effects of Large Igneous Province Emplacement

open access: yesGeophysical Monograph Series, Page 27-82., 2021

Exploring the links between Large Igneous Provinces and dramatic environmental impact

An emerging consensus suggests that Large Igneous Provinces (LIPs) and Silicic LIPs (SLIPs) are a significant driver of dramatic global environmental and biological changes, including mass extinctions.

Dynamics of shallow impact cratering

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2005
We present data for the time-dependence of wooden spheres penetrating into a loose non-cohesive packing of glass beads. The stopping time is a factor of three longer than the time $d/v_\circ$ needed to travel the total penetration distance $d$ at the impact speed $v_\circ$. The acceleration decreases monotonically throughout the impact.

Water‐Borne Erosion of Reinforced Polymer Composites: Application to Shallow Offshore Marine Environment

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Comparison of experimental and model‐predicted erosion rates for carbon fibre‐reinforced polymer (CFRP) and glass fibre‐reinforced polymer (GFRP) under low‐velocity (2 m/s) and at varying angles and sand concentrations (0.0, 0.05, 0.4 g/L). The results demonstrate good agreement between experimental data and model predictions across different erosive ...

Morphological Features-Based Descriptive Index System for Lunar Impact Craters

open access: yesISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information, 2017
Lunar impact craters are important for studying lunar surface morphology because they are the most typical morphological units of the Moon. Impact crater descriptive indices can be used to describe morphological features and thus provide direct evidence ...
