Evaluating the Probability of Survival and Damage Mechanisms of Resin Matrix Ceramics: Insights Into Wear Progression and Surface Damage Under Fatigue

open access: yesJournal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective This study evaluated the probability of survival, failure modes, and fatigue‐induced wear progression, as well as assessed damage tolerance under simulated mastication in two resin matrix ceramics (polymer‐infiltrated ceramic networks (PICN) and resin nanoceramic (RNC)).

Biomaterials for Reconstructive Treatment of Peri‐Implantitis

open access: yesJournal of Periodontal Research, EarlyView.
Reconstructive therapy should be implemented in contained defects. Various bone filler materials with or without a barrier membrane and/or adjunctive biologics may be applied. ABSTRACT Peri‐implantitis is a pathological condition affecting the tissues surrounding dental implants, marked by inflammation of the peri‐implant connective tissue and ...

Hidden lineages in the African Sky Islands: A taxonomic reevaluation of Afrocarduus (Compositae)

open access: yesJournal of Systematics and Evolution, EarlyView.
Species delimitation is crucial for biodiversity studies. Using Hyb‐Seq and phylogenomics, we reassessed Afrocarduus, endemic to Afromontane and Afroalpine regions, uncovering 16 evolutionary lineages (2.3 Mya). Morphological data support their distinctiveness, with acaulescence evolving independently twice. The traditionally broad A.
