Investigation Into the Electrochemical Performance of Micron‐ and Nanosized Tin in Diglyme and Carbonate Electrolytes in Sodium Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This study compares Sn particles of different sizes in NIBs using carbonate‐ and diglyme‐based electrolytes. Diglyme electrolytes enable stable cycling despite large volume changes, while carbonate electrolytes degrade rapidly, especially with nanoparticles.

Arthroscopic Three Hybrid Anchor Construct Fixation in Skeletally Immature Patients With Tibial Eminence Fractures

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, EarlyView.
Abstract This article describes a surgical technique for skeletally immature patients with tibial eminence fractures of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) insertion. Owing to the distinct anatomical characteristics in skeletally immature patients compared with adults, we arthroscopically implanted a three hybrid anchor construct into the posterior ...

Bayesian time series analysis of terrestrial impact cratering

open access: yes, 2011
Giant impacts by comets and asteroids have probably had an important influence on terrestrial biological evolution. We know of around 180 high velocity impact craters on the Earth with ages up to 2400Myr and diameters up to 300km.

Single flap approach combined with periosteal pedicle flap as a regenerative procedure: A case report

open access: yesClinical Advances in Periodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Single flap approach (SFA) is a validated procedure for obtaining clinical attachment gain and pocket closure when applied to deep intraosseous defects. However, the presence of an interdental crater as well as the tooth location were associated with a lower rate of primary intention closure, possibly jeopardizing the outcome of the

The Effect of Antecedent Topography on Complex Crater Formation

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters
Impact craters that form on every planetary body provide a record of planetary surface evolution. On heavily cratered surfaces, new craters that form often overlap antecedent craters, but it is unknown how the presence of antecedent craters alters impact

Microbial mats of the Tswaing impact crater: results of a South African exobiology expedition and implications for the search for biological molecules on Mars [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We describe microbial mats from the Tswaing impact crater in South Africa. The mats provide insights into the unique biological characteristics of impact craters and can help strategies for the search for biomolecules on ...

Impact-Induced Melting of Near-Surface Water Ice on Mars [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
All fresh and many older Martian craters with diameters greater than a few km are surrounded by ejecta blankets which appear fluidized, with morphologies believed to form by entrainment of liquid water.

Multi‐Dimensional Conductive Nanocomposites for Flexible Electronics

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Multi‐dimensional conductive nanocomposites integrate 0D, 1D, and 2D nanomaterials through spatial structure regulation and interface engineering, achieving “1 + 1 > 2” synergistic effects. By leveraging 0D filling to reduce contact resistance, 1D bridging to construct continuous conductive paths, and 2D supporting to enhance mechanical stability ...

CraterIDNet: An End-to-End Fully Convolutional Neural Network for Crater Detection and Identification in Remotely Sensed Planetary Images

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2018
The detection and identification of impact craters on a planetary surface are crucially important for planetary studies and autonomous navigation. Crater detection refers to finding craters in a given image, whereas identification means to actually ...

Dominant Lithium‐Ion Conduction and Desolvation Regulation Enabled by Lithiated Monodisperse Nanospheres Composite Separator for High‐Nickel Lithium Batteries

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
To match high‐nickel lithium batteries, a composite separator is designed using a sulfonation‐lithiation nanosphere coating modification strategy. The composite separator can enhance the selectivity of lithium‐ion transport, accelerate Li+‐desolvation, and capture Ni, Co, and Mn ions.
