Acceptorless Dehydrogenative Polymerization

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Acceptor‐less dehydrogenative polymerization (ADP) enables the atom‐economic step‐growth synthesis of different type of polymers directly from simple alcohols, releasing H2 as the sole by‐product. This review outlines the mechanistic foundations, catalytic systems, and emerging polymer architectures of ADP, highlighting its potential as a sustainable ...

Hydrostatic compression on polypropylene foam [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Models currently used to simulate the impact behaviour of polymeric foam at high strain rates use data from mechanical tests. Uniaxial compression is the most common mechanical test used, but the results from this test alone are insufficient to ...

Multimodal Cross‐Attentive Graph‐Based Framework for Predicting In Vivo Endocrine Disruptors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multimodal cross‐attentive graph neural network integrates molecular graphs with androgen and estrogen adverse outcome pathway (AOP)–anchored in vitro assay signals to predict in vivo endocrine disruption. By fusing information on Tier‐1 AOP logits with chemical structures, the framework achieves high accuracy and provides assay‐traceable ...

Responses of a Highly Accelerated Life Test System to Impacts from Different Designs of Hammers

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2014
The response of a table to the impact of its driving hammer in the highly accelerated life test (HALT) system depends on, among other things, the location of the hammer, the presence of multiple hammers, and the angle at which the hammer is mounted to ...

Generating descriptive text from functional brain images [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Recent work has shown that it is possible to take brain images of a subject acquired while they saw a scene and reconstruct an approximation of that scene from the images. Here we show that it is also possible to generate _text_ from brain images.

Systematically Engineering for Efficient Production of 3‐Methyl‐1‐Butanol in Escherichia coli

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An integrated metabolic engineering strategy was established for high‐level 3‐methyl‐1‐butanol biosynthesis in Escherichia coli. Molecular dynamics‐guided semi‐rational engineering of dihydroxyacid dehydratase uncovered and relieved key catalytic bottlenecks, while adaptive laboratory evolution enhanced strain robustness.

Study on Cumulative Damage Law of Stainless Steel-Reinforced Concrete Columns under Step Impact Loading

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2019
In this study, an ultrahigh drop hammer impact test system was adopted for multiple horizontal impact tests on stainless steel-reinforced concrete columns and ordinary-reinforced concrete columns with the same longitudinal reinforcement diameter.

Hardness Safety Testing of Artificial Turf

open access: yesProceedings, 2020
This paper compares four sport surface hardness impact test devices, for use on artificial turf (AT) surfaces to control safety. Sports governing bodies require sport surfaces to be assessed with the “Advanced Artificial Athlete” (AAA) mechanical test ...

IMAGES-III: The evolution of the Near-Infrared Tully-Fisher relation over the last 6 Gyr

open access: yes, 2008
Using the multi-integral field spectrograph GIRAFFE at VLT, we have derived the K-band Tully-Fisher relation (TFR) at z~0.6 for a representative sample of 65 galaxies with emission lines. We confirm that the scatter in the z~0.6 TFR is caused by galaxies
