Positron impact phenomena

Journal of Physics B: Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics, 1990
Atomic collision experiments using low-energy positron beams have been actively pursued for more than two decades. With greater understanding of the basic physics governing the production of these beams, advances in technology have promoted studies beyond measurements of total collision cross sections.

Studies of impact phenomena

Wear, 1980
Abstract An experimental investigation and a theoretical treatment of impacting bodies are described. High energy impact experiments were performed by repeatedly striking a rectangular section metal fin on the face of a massive hammer against an equally massive anvil specimen at 300 and 650 °C.

HYPERVELOCITY IMPACT PHENOMENA

1963
Abstract : A summation of the research performed at the Explosives Research Laboratory, Pittsburgh, Pa. in the field of hypervelocity impact on thin targets is presented. The immediate goal of the research is to obtain a complete description of the thin-plate perforation process within the limits of available explosive projectors.

Impact ionization phenomena in AlGaAs/GaAs HBTs

Microelectronic Engineering, 1992
Ionization phenomena in AlGaAs/GaAs HBTs are theoretically and experimentally investigated. The measured multiplication factor correlates well to the results of a Monte Carlo simulation of the device, which also provides general microscopic details of the pre-avalanche regime, and evidences the role of dead-space effects.

Electrical contact phenomena during impact

IEEE Transactions on Components, Hybrids, and Manufacturing Technology, 1991
The authors outline the theory of impact as it applies to electrical contacts. The concept of the coefficient of restitution is evaluated as a means of modeling the events at impact. The events occurring during the impact of electrical contacts are vital to the long-term reliability of the contacts; so design parameters are considered in terms of their
