Optical Properties. Emission and Impact Phenomena

1993
In hcp beryllium with two atoms per unit cell and the space group D 6h 4 −P63/mmc, No. 194 (see “Beryllium” Suppl. Vol. A 2, 1991, p. 17), E2g is the only Raman-active optical mode. At 300 K on polycrystalline Be the Raman line was observed at 455 cm-1(line width Δω ≈ 16 cm−1) with 4880 Ǻ (Ar ion laser) excitation as the Stokes line [1].

Wave Phenomena During Droplet Impact

1995
Wave phenomena that govern different processes during droplet impact are introduced and discussed. These include surface waves, in particular capillary waves, that are important for the spreading motion of droplets impinging onto solid walls. The rim of the advancing thin liquid film is subject to an instability that causes the formation of well-known ...

Large ocean phenomena with human impact

2010
The goal throughout this book is not simply to present the variety of applications of remote sensing in marine science, but particularly to identify unique contributions to revealing and understanding ocean phenomena made possible by the observational capabilities of sensors viewing the sea from orbiting satellites.

Experimental investigation of SLD impact phenomena

2017
The necessity of enhancing existing simulation tools to predict accurately the ice accretion cause by SLD is obvious. This paper proposes an experimental approach of large droplet impact study in non-icing conditions but in high speed conditions. After a description of the experimental setup three different aspect of impact are proposed - Impact ...
