Study on Raindrop Dynamic Behaviour and Its Impact on Insulator Flashover Characteristics Under Airflow Synergy

open access: yesHigh Voltage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The synergistic effect of airflow on rainfall behaviour significantly impacts the flashover probability of insulators. This study combines experiments and simulations to investigate the influence of raindrop dynamic behaviour, shed structures and rainfall conditions on flashover characteristics under airflow conditions.

Recommendations to Reform the National Electricity Market (NEM)

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Australia's National Electricity Market (NEM) was established in the late 1990s. The market is an energy only gross pool with zonal (state‐based) pricing. Over the past 15 years, the system has undergone a profound transformation as large coal‐fired power stations have retired and substantial volumes of large‐scale and embedded behind the ...

Patient Safety and Organisational Accountability: Reassessing Criminal Liability Frameworks in Healthcare

open access: yesThe Modern Law Review, EarlyView.
Serious harm in healthcare often results from systemic failures, yet criminal accountability remains largely addressed through homicide law, gross negligence manslaughter and health‐and‐safety offences, frameworks that emphasise individual culpability and are ill‐suited to addressing organisational failings.

Measurement uncertainty of façade sound insulation: A comparison between ANOVA and RRT uncertainty evaluations

open access: yes, 2017
In recent years the attention given to the measurements in the low frequency range has considerably increased, as well as their uncertainty evaluation; nevertheless, the uncertainty of field measurements, in particular façade sound insulation, has not ...

Does the Rule of Law Require the Separation of Powers?

open access: yesThe Modern Law Review, EarlyView.
The separation of powers is an enigmatic political ideal, particularly in the context of the modern administrative state, in which administrative officials routinely perform a combination of legislative, judicial, and executive functions. In this article we reexamine this ideal by interrogating Adrian Vermeule's provocative claim that the separation of
