A Comparison Analysis of a New Switched-Inductor and Conventional Split Source Inverter Structures

open access: yesIEEE Access
Several impedance source converters are receiving more attention currently due to their bucking-boosting capability in a single conversion step, reduced system cost, size, footprint, and control system complexity compared to dual-stage structures.

LL‐37 Driven Phase Transition and Stacking in Oligolamellar Gram‐Negative Bacterial Membrane Models

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work establishes oligolamellar bacterial membrane models to investigate how LL‐37 disrupts the complex dual‐bilayer architecture of Gram‐negative bacteria. Combining SAXS, cryo‐TEM, electrophoretic mobility measurements, and coarse‐grained simulations, it reveals cardiolipin‐driven phase transitions leading to bicelle‐like structures and membrane ...

Comparative Evaluation of Generalized Multicell Impedance Source Inverter for Drives

open access: yesInternational Journal of Power Electronics and Drive Systems (IJPEDS), 2014
Voltage-Source Inverter is limited by its only voltage step-down operation. In adding with extra boosting the flexibility is kept active for  the number of  semiconductors which is unchanged, voltage-type Z-source inverter was earlier proposed. These new classes of inverter is generally less sensitive to electromagnetic noises.

In‐Situ Solution Complexation for n‐Type Surface‐Energetics Reconstruction in 2.0 eV Ultra‐Wide‐Bandgap Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A reactive in situ solution complexation strategy reconstructs the surface of 2.0 eV ultra‐wide‐bandgap perovskites via proton transfer. This chemical modulation eliminates metallic defects and induces a degenerate‐like n‐type surface, establishing an Ohmic tunneling contact.

Grid‐forming inverter control design for PV sources considering DC‐link dynamics

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation
A grid‐forming inverter in an inverter‐dominated grid should operate as a dispatchable voltage source, which is difficult to achieve when the inverter is interfaced with nonlinear dc sources such as photovoltaic (PV) arrays.

Robust Polymer Hydrogels Improve Electric‐Fish‐Inspired Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Electric‐fish‐inspired hydrogel batteries based on ion‐concentration gradients offer an attractive route to soft power sources; however, the poor mechanical properties of existing hydrogels limit device assembly and performance. Here, we report poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether acrylate hydrogels that enable ion‐gradient batteries composed of

Inducing Ferromagnetism by Structural Engineering in a Strongly Spin‐Orbit Coupled Oxide

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Magnetic materials with strong spin‐orbit coupling (SOC) are essential for the advancement of spin‐orbitronic devices, as they enable efficient spin‐charge conversion, complex magnetic structures, spin‐valley physics, topological phases and other exotic phenomena.

Phasor-Based Assessment for Harmonic Sources in Distribution Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Phasor-based interdependencies of multiple harmonic sources, especially Distributed Energy Resources, on distribution networks are analyzed in this paper. A new index, Phasor Harmonic Index (IPH), is proposed by the authors.

The Terminal Domains of Collagen‐Like Silk Direct Molecular Interactions and Liquid–Liquid Phase Separation‐Mediated Material Assembly

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Terminal domains of recombinant collagen‐like silk regulate hierarchical self‐assembly across molecular and material scales. We show that terminal domains of collagen‐like silk enhance triple‐helix stability and drive liquid–liquid phase separation, enabling reversible formation of fibers and self‐healing films.
