Estimation of standard error of impedance‐estimated frost resistance

Scandinavian Journal of Forest Research, 1989
The magnitude of measurement errors of the specific impedance difference was estimated and a formula to approximate the variance of the estimated frost resistance was derived. The measurements of specific impedance difference include the measurement errors of impedance before and after frost treatment and cross-sectional area.

Impedance-effects in capacity estimation

ZOR Zeitschrift für Operations Research Methods and Models of Operations Research, 1992
Summary: Formulas for the capacity of an unsignalized intersection for traffic streams which are subordinated to two or more streams of higher priority are developed. The case of only two conflicting streams analysed by \textit{J. C. Tanner} [Biometrika 54, 657-658 (1967)] is extended.

Comparison of system impedance estimating methods

2011 International Conference on Advanced Power System Automation and Protection, 2011
This paper introduces and compares three impedance estimation techniques: FFT, PSD and CWT. The impedance of proposed system is calculated by using the injected step current transient and the measured voltage response. Both steady and noisy situation is simulated by Matlab/Simulink and the characteristics of each impedance analyzing method are ...

Real Time Estimation of Battery Impedance

2006 IEEE Aerospace Conference, 2006
Electrochemical impedance measurement systems use the Bode analysis technique to characterize the impedance of an electrochemical process. It is a well established and proven technique. The battery being evaluated is excited with a current that is single frequency and its response is measured.

Impedance Estimation from Magnetic Field Measurement

60th EAGE Conference and Exhibition, 1998
In the VLF method, the ratio between the vertical and the horizontal magnetic field (the tippet) are measured to detect localized changes in electrical conductivity contrasts. The measurements themselves do not give a direct estimation of electrical conductivity contrasts.

An Accurate Inverter Impedance Estimation Method

2020 IEEE 9th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (IPEMC2020-ECCE Asia), 2020
Grid-connected inverters are widely used in renewable energy systems. Interaction between the grid and the inverter, however, may generate harmonic resonances that leads to reduced power quality and even instability. To analyze the stability of the inverter-grid system using impedance-based stability criterion, inverter impedance has to be known.

Time‐domain estimation of MT Impedance tensor

GEOPHYSICS, 1994
The spectral analysis of magnetotelluric (MT) data for impedance tensor estimation requires the stationarity of measured magnetic (H) and electric (E) fields. However, it is well known that noise biases timedomain tensor estimates obtained via an iterative search by a descent algorithm to determine the least‐mean‐square residual between measured and ...

Analytical Estimation of Transit Access Impedances

Transportation Engineering Journal of ASCE, 1972
Access to transit lines has a significant impact on transit ridership. Accordingly, models developed by the UTP process very often distinguish between access time and line-haul time. A systematic technique for determining access link characteristics from a zone to a single transit stop or to a given transit line is developed herein.

Estimation of Physiological Impedance from Neuromuscular Pulse Data

2021 43rd Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine & Biology Society (EMBC), 2021
A Conducted Electrical Weapon (CEW) deploys 2, or more, probes to conduct current via the body to induce motor-nerve mediated muscle contractions, but the inter-probe resistances can vary and this can affect charge delivery. For this reason, newer generation CEWs such as the TASER® X3, X2 and X26P models have feed-forward control circuits to keep the ...

Environment estimation for enhanced impedance control

Proceedings of 1995 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 2002
Impedance control is a popular method of controlling the dynamic response a robot has to external forces. The advantage of such a control paradigm is the ability to manipulate in both unconstrained and constrained environments. Unlike hybrid control methods that attempt to control forces and motions in orthogonal directions, impedance control consists ...
