The influences of environmental conditions on source localisation using a single vertical array and their exploitation through ground effect inversion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The performance of microphone arrays outdoors is influenced by the environmental conditions. Numerical simulations indicate that, while horizontal arrays are hardly affected, direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation with vertical arrays becomes biased in ...

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

Utility harmonic impedance estimation based on time series clustering and improved Pettitt method

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
Utility harmonic impedance estimation is critical for power quality assessment and improvement. Noninvasive methods without injecting harmonics are widely adopted to estimate utility harmonic impedance using natural load variations.

Estimation of joint impedance using short data segments [PDF]

open access: yes2011 Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2011
Joint impedance is an important property of the human muscular system and plays a role in the control of movement and posture. Previous studies showed that joint impedance varies with the position of the joint and activation level of the surrounding muscles; however, it remains unknown how it varies during movement.

Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).

Harmonic impedance estimation based on improved rank estimation

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series
Abstract In response to the issue of harmonic data anomalies affecting harmonic impedance estimation, a method based on improved rank regression is proposed, building upon the foundation of rank estimation. This method utilizes harmonic data sampled from the point of common coupling, treating harmonic impedance as regression parameters ...

Liquid biopsy epigenetics: establishing a molecular profile based on cell‐free DNA

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) fragments in plasma from cancer patients carry epigenetic signatures reflecting their cells of origin. These epigenetic features include DNA methylation, nucleosome modifications, and variations in fragmentation. This review describes the biological properties of each feature and explores optimal strategies for harnessing cfDNA ...

Estimating Visceral Fat Area by Multifrequency Bioelectrical Impedance [PDF]

open access: yesDiabetes Care, 2010
OBJECTIVE We developed a new method of estimating visceral fat area (VFA) using multifrequency bioelectrical impedance (BI). RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS We considered abdominal composition as a parallel circuit model composed of VFA and subcutaneous

Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

Sparsity-Based Error Detection in DC Power Flow State Estimation

open access: yes, 2016
This paper presents a new approach for identifying the measurement error in the DC power flow state estimation problem. The proposed algorithm exploits the singularity of the impedance matrix and the sparsity of the error vector by posing the DC power ...
