A Comparison of Impedance Measurements: With Mechanical and Electroacoustic Impedance Measuring Devices

Archives of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, 1971
The Zwislocki Acoustic Bridge (mechanical) and the Madsen Z070 Electroacoustic Bridge were compared in 11 normal hearing subjects. Both compliance and absolute impedance values at the eardrum derived with each instrument were correlated with each other and themselves on measurements repeated at three weekly intervals.

Impedance-Measuring Instrument

Proceedings of the IRE, 1942
Following a brief discussion of impedance-measuring methods, the theory underlying the operation of this instrument is presented with the development of useful equations. The merit of the scheme lies in the fact that measurements can be made while the impedance is in operation without disturbing the current distribution of the network.

Impedance measurements on underground cables

Electrical Engineering, 1936
To eliminate uncertainties arising from assumed constants involved in the calculation of sequence impedances, hield measurements of 60 cycle positive and zero sequence impedances of 2 sizes of 3-conductor underground power cable were made on the 27 kv system of a large eastern metropolitan company; the results are reported in this paper.

Mechanical Impedance Measurements

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1948
A method of measuring mechanical impedance at discrete frequencies is outlined; this method follows directly from Fay's telephone receiver analysis. The application of this method to the measurement of the mechanical transfer impedance at a violin bridge is discussed and some experimental results presented.

Adaptive Bio-impedance Measurement

2019 E-Health and Bioengineering Conference (EHB), 2019
The following project aims to analyze the impedance trend on a growth/death curve of cells, bacterial or viruses in the cultures. The device is adaptable to different aspects:–allows the measurement of biological substances such as cells, bacteria or viruses;–through an appropriate connector it is possible to use an electrode that adapts itself to the ...

Measuring modifying impedance transducers

27th International Spring Seminar on Electronics Technology: Meeting the Challenges of Electronics Technology Progress, 2004., 2005
Modifying impedance transducers are often used in hydroelectric building stability monitoring. Structurally, this transducer type includes an LC electronic oscillator, with inductance as variable parameter. The measured physical quantity (pressure, displacement, force, etc.) modifies a geometrical distance, changing the equivalent inductance of the ...

Impedance Measurement Methods

1972
The subject of impedance measurement has long suffered in the same way as old-fashioned teaching methods. So much has been done in the recent past by rote and the object of this chapter is to describe measurement methods and thereby attempt to provide something of the essential understanding necessary to obtain a satisfactory result.

Making Impedance Measurements

1972
Having decided upon a specific instrument to make an impedance measurement it is important to utilise fully the facilities available. To do this the essential is to know the basic method of measurement employed. Reference to the handbook is always worthwhile before using an unfamiliar instrument.
