Beam-based impedance measurement of HL-LHC low-impedance collimators

open access: yesPhysical Review Accelerators and Beams
The objective of the High Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC) upgrade is to attain an instantaneous luminosity that is 5 times greater than the design value of the LHC.

Estimation of Railway Line Impedance at Low Frequency Using Onboard Measurements Only

open access: yesEnergies
Estimating line impedance is relevant in transmission and distribution networks, in particular for planning and control. The large number of deployed PMUs has fostered the use of passive indirect methods based on network model identification. Electrified

An Aptamer-Based Capacitive Sensing Platform for Specific Detection of Lung Carcinoma Cells in the Microfluidic Chip

open access: yesBiosensors, 2018
Improvement of methods for reliable and early diagnosis of the cellular diseases is necessary. A biological selectivity probe, such as an aptamer, is one of the candidate recognition layers that can be used to detect important biomolecules.

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Hybrid Composites of Poly (diphenylamine sulfonic acid) and nano-Alumina for Impedimetric Humidity Sensors

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2017
In this paper, nano-hybrid composites of water-soluble, conducting polymer poly (diphenylamine sulfonic acid) (PSDA) with nano-Al2O3 and (3-mercaptopropyl) trimethoxysilane (MPTMS) have been prepared to construct the interdigitated impedimetric type of ...

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Visualising the lubrication condition in hydrodynamic journal bearings using impedance measurement

open access: yesFrontiers in Mechanical Engineering
IntroductionThe demand to increase reliability and reduce maintenance costs drives the search for new condition monitoring solutions of machines. Bearings are of special interest in this matter as they are main contributors to machine downtime. Therefore,

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

On the selection of excitation signals for the fast spectroscopy of electrical bioimpedance

open access: yesJournal of Electrical Bioimpedance, 2018
Different excitation signals are applicable in the wideband impedance spectroscopy in general. However, in electrical bioimpedance (EBI) measurements, there are limitations that set specific demands on the properties of the excitation signals. This paper
