Association between arterial health and cognition in adolescents: The PANIC study. [PDF]
Abstract We investigated the associations of the measures of arterial health with cognition in adolescents and whether physical activity (PA) or sedentary time (ST) confounds these associations. One hundred sixteen adolescents (71 boys) aged 15.9 ± 0.4 participated in the study. PA and ST were assessed using a combined accelerometer/heart rate monitor.

Breath holding divers display extraordinary voluntary control over involuntary reactions during apneic episodes. We show that an EMG signal extracted from the ECG can complement plethysmography as a measure of breath hold respiratory function and may help quantify involuntary effort, as reported previously for obstructive sleep apnea.

A reflectance oximeter array based on 16 × 16 organic photodiodes (OPDs) is presented. The OPD pixels exhibit near‐infrared sensitivity and ultralow dark current. The OPD array records state‐of‐the‐art photoplethysmography (PPG) waveform signals over a large area, providing information on artery stiffness and blood circulation in addition to vital sign
