Influence of imperfect prognostics on maintenance decisions
A comprehensive framework (from real-time prognostics to maintenance decisions) studying the influence of the imperfect prognostics information on maintenance decision is an underexplored area. Thus, we bridge the gap and propose a new comprehensive maintenance support system.

Taxanes are widely used chemotherapeutics whose effects on cellular mechanics remain poorly understood. We show that paclitaxel induces rapid cellular contraction by promoting GEF‐H1 dissociation from microtubules and non‐muscle myosin II activation through RhoA/ROCK.

Optimal number of imperfect repairs for deteriorating systems [PDF]
A periodic maintenance policy through either an imperfect repair or replacement is proposed for a repairable system. It is assumed that the system is subject to an inverse Gaussian degradation process.

The dFoCC pipeline starts with observed DED and resting‐state coordinates, which are then used to generate a library of triggered states. Correlation analysis of the calculated DED features of each candidate vs observed DED permits quantitative evaluation of candidate structural quality.

Directed evolution of enzymes at the crossroads of tradition and innovation
An iterative cycle of data‐driven enzyme optimization comprising four stages: genetic diversification of a template enzyme, expression of protein variants, high‐throughput evaluation, and machine‐learning‐guided redesign of the next variant library.

Small RNA pathways in mammalian oocytes
Three distinct small RNA pathways operate in mammalian oocytes: RNAi interference (RNAi), the microRNA (miRNA) pathway, and the PIWI‐associated RNA (piRNA) pathway. These pathways use small RNAs to guide sequence‐specific repression and contribute to oocyte biology by targeting genes and mobile elements or appear insignificant since different ...

Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.

A condition-based imperfect maintenance model with action dependent deterioration
International audienceWe propose a maintenance decision framework where the state of the system is based on a percentage of total degrada- tion and the rate of change of the degradation.
