Optimal order quantity for imperfect quality items

open access: yes, 2017
The classic economic order quantity (EOQ) model assumes that all items received from a supplier are of perfect quality. This paper considers an inventory situation where some of the items received are of imperfect quality but not defective. The imperfect

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

A Two-Echelon Supply Chain Inventory Model for Perishable Products with a Shifting Production Rate, Stock-Dependent Demand Rate, and Imperfect Quality Raw Material

open access: yesAppliedMath
This model extends the classical economic production quantity (EPQ) model to address the complexities within a two-echelon supply chain system. The model integrates the cost of raw materials necessary for production and takes into account the presence of

The Quality Management of the Imperfect Production Process under Two Monitoring Policies

open access: yes, 2010
[[abstract]]Develops a framework which provides a step towards better planning of production, scheming inspection and preventive maintenance. Studies the effects of an imperfect production process on the optimal production cycle time.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

CAC scheme with imperfect power control in broadband CDMA networks

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2009
Putting forward the CAC schemes with imperfect power control for multimedia traffic would be great signifi-cant.The system capacity with imperfect power control and the other-cell to intra-cell interference factor was analyzed. And then considering the ...

Credit financing for deteriorating imperfect quality items with allowable shortages [PDF]

open access: yesDecision Science Letters, 2016
The outset of new technologies, systems and applications in manufacturing sector has no doubt lighten up our workload, yet the chance causes of variation in production system cannot be eliminated completely.

Signalling Rivalry and Quality Uncertainty in a Duopoly [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This paper considers price competition in a duopoly with quality uncertainty. The established firm (the `incumbent') offers a quality that is publicly known; the other firm (the `entrant') offers a new good whose quality is not known by some consumers ...
