Dual-rotating retarder polarimeters constitute a family of well-known instruments that are used today in a great variety of scientific and industrial contexts. In this work, the periodic intensity signal containing the information of all sixteen Mueller elements of depolarizing or nondepolarizing samples is determined for different ratios of angular ...

SHEAR BUCKLING ANALYSIS OF CORRUGATED WEB I-GIRDER WITH 3D NONLINEAR FINITE ELEMENT METHOD
This paper presents a shear buckling analysis of corrugated web I-girder beam using nonlinear finite element analysis. An in-house finite element package called 3D-NLFEA is used in the simulation.

Objective Studies of damage accrual in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) show associations with disease activity measured by the SLE Disease Activity Index 2000 (SLEDAI‐2K), but these associations are imperfect. SLEDAI scores are powerfully influenced by weightings (1–8) assigned to each domain.

Maximum ratio combining of correlated diversity branches with imperfect channel state information and colored noise [PDF]
Recently, an analytical expression for the mean bit error probability of a binary modulated signal has been derived for a receiver performing maximum ratio combining of correlated diversity branches based on imperfect channel state information. We extend these results to the general case of colored additive noise.

Fatigue Strength Assessment of Welded Mild Steel Joints Containing Bulk Imperfections
This work investigates the effect of gas pores, as bulk imperfections, on the fatigue strength of welded mild steel joints. Two test series containing different butt joint geometries and weld process parameters are included in order to achieve two ...

Interactive Buckling of Q420 Welded Circular Tubes under Axial Compression
Finite element models (FE models) of high-strength steel Q420 (yield strength 420 MPa) circular tubes considering residual stresses and local and overall geometric imperfections were established and verified against existing test data. Based on parameter

Planar Solid‐State Nanopores Toward Scalable Nanofluidic Integration Based on CMOS Technology
We present a scalable silicon‐based fabrication strategy for planar solid‐state nanopores to enable their integration with complex nanofluidic systems. Prototype devices demonstrate normal voltage‐current characteristics, good noise performance, and appreciable streaming currents. Our CMOS‐compatible fabrication process offers precise geometric control

Robust Entangled-Photon Ghost Imaging with Compressive Sensing
This work experimentally demonstrates that the imaging quality of quantum ghost imaging (GI) with entangled photons can be significantly improved by properly handling the errors caused by the imperfection of optical devices.

The corrosion performance of AlSi7Mg and AlSi10Mg alloys produced through selective laser melting (SLM) was examined under compressive stress in a chloride environment. Electrochemical analyses, including open‐circuit potential (OCP), potentiodynamic polarization (CPP), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), were complemented by scanning ...
