Do not let thermal drift and instrument artifacts deceive high‐temperature nanoindentation results. We compare classical Oliver–Pharr and automatic image recognition analyses across steels and a Ni alloy to quantify these effects. Accounting for artifacts reveals systematic softening with temperature, while Cr and Ni additions boost resistance ...

Testing the predictions of the feature-assembly hypothesis: evidence from the L2 acquisition of Spanish aspect morphology [PDF]
According to the Feature-Assembly Hypothesis (FAH) (Lardiere 2005, 2009, Choi and Lardiere 2006a) convergence in second language acquisition is determined by whether L2 speakers can effectively reassemble existing features into new (L2) configurations ...

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Manifestations formelles de l’accompli et de l’inaccompli en faana-faana
This article is related to the analysis of TAM (tense, aspect, and mode) markers in Wolof. It attempts to present the characteristics of the opposition perfective vs. imperfective in the paradigms of conjugation in wolof faana-faana.

Fully Realizing Partial Realization [PDF]
There has been a movement in philosophy, growing over the last twenty years, to treat dispositionality as irreducible and, in turn, offer dispositional accounts of important metaphysical matters such as the laws of nature, free will, causation, and ...

Slight Truncation Changes in Iron Oxide Nanocubes Strongly Affect Their Magnetic Properties
Subtle variations in nanoparticle morphology can lead to significant changes in functional properties. An automated shape‐fitting method captures minor differences in corner truncation between iron oxide nanocubes of similar sizes synthesized under identical conditions, revealing pronounced disparities in their magnetic and hyperthermia behavior ...

Magnetic Force Microscopy Signatures of Higher‐Order Skyrmions and Antiskyrmions
Magnetic force microscopy operated under vacuum conditions enables the qualitative identification of higher‐order skyrmions and antiskyrmions in Co/Ni multilayers at room temperature. Distinct stray‐field contrast signatures arise from vertical Bloch lines and complex domain‐wall configurations.

When the prefixes meet the suffixes
This paper explores the different interpretations the prefix po- in Polish gets depending on what kind of stem it attaches to. Thus, I show that the distinction between high and low suffixing verbalizers correlates with a distinction within the prefixal ...
