Racial purity and supremacy were core to Nazi Germany’s claims to European dominion. At the same time, their very own “racial scientific” research showed that most Germans were “mixed-race.” Given the dissonance between phenotypical aspirations to a Nordic ideal and the reality of a largely non-blond German population, how did the National Socialist ...

Autonomous Navigation of Pollen‐Inspired Magnetic Microrobots for Biomedical Applications
A sunflower pollen‐inspired magnetic microrobot enables controlled rolling navigation in vessel‐like environments. Its open geometry reduces hydrodynamic drag, while vision‐based closed‐loop control, shortest‐path planning, and reinforcement learning support target‐reaching and maze navigation with microrobot‐scale accuracy, highlighting a route toward

A directionally ice‐templated sulfur cathode integrated with atomically dispersed Fe–N4 catalytic sites is developed for high‐performance lithium–sulfur batteries. The structure–catalysis synergy accelerates Li+ transport and polysulfide conversion, leading to high sulfur utilization and stable long‐term cycling performance.

George Kennan’s Photography Collection of Political Exiles in Labor Camps of Late Imperial Siberia
This article examines an album of photographs compiled by the American explorer and scholar George Kennan (1845-1924) on the topic of political exiles in Imperial Russia. As a result of his travels through Russia, Kennan began a large collection of photographs of political prisoners and later donated this album to the New York Public Library shortly ...

A hybrid mobile robot with a modular Variable‐Stiffness Bridge transitions between a rigid locomotion platform and a flexible, shape‐conforming body. By enclosing objects within its deformable structure rather than relying on dedicated end effectors, the robot achieves orientation‐regulated planar transport, with conformal contact quality shown to ...
