Supervising Your In‐Group? How Social Identification Shapes Financial Sector Regulatory Leniency

open access: yesRegulation &Governance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Both practitioners and governance scholars recognize the importance of external oversight, especially in regulated industries like the financial sector. However, the failure of financial sector regulators and enforcement officials (supervisors) to act is often cited as a primary cause of ineffective governance.

River geometry responses resulting from hydrological changes in a partially urbanized watershed: an experimental study in Southern Brazil

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Geomorfologia
: Impervious surfaces resulting from urbanization can increase peak flow magnitudes and affect the physical integrity of rivers, leading to alterations in channel morphometric parameters.

Estimating Impervious Surface Cover in Flathead County, Montana

open access: yes, 2017
Northwest Montana has seen a significant increase in its population in the past twenty years. The increase in population, and associated development, is thought to be associated with "amenity migration"; people moving to an area to exploit the ...

Effect of impervious surface on peak discharge and runoff volume [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Urbanization processes increase the area of impervious surface in a catchment due to alteration of pervious surface. As a result, the urbanization processes will affect the rainfall-runoff process as higher surface runoff volume will be generated ...

A climate‐sensitive tropical urbanism under extreme heat†

open access: yesSingapore Journal of Tropical Geography, EarlyView.
Tropical urban dwellers face twin climate challenges that impinge on their quality of life: climate overheating and the urban heat island (UHI). The latter superimposed on the former to lead to high levels of thermal discomfort, carbon and energy consequences.

Non‐native parrot species expand the trait space of avian communities by filling empty niches in urban areas

open access: yesIbis, Volume 168, Issue 3, Page 1055-1070, July 2026.
Non‐native species are one of the greatest threats to biodiversity worldwide due to their direct and indirect effects on native communities. There are two opposing hypotheses to explain how non‐native species successfully establish outside their native range.

Proline Ring‐Inversion Dynamics in Peptides Enable Cross‐Relaxation‐Based Dynamic Nuclear Polarization

open access: yesChemPhysChem, Volume 27, Issue 11, 15 June 2026.
A systematic investigation of SCREAM‐DNP beyond methyl groups, using ring‐inversion dynamics on proline as a model compound. Comparison between free proline and proline‐containing oligopeptides at different sequence positions shows how local structural context modulates ring dynamics and site‐specific DNP enhancement.

ANALYSIS OF THE IMPERVIOUS SURFACE EXPANSION ON URBAN RUNOFF

open access: yesAfrican Journal on Land Policy and Geospatial Sciences
Analysis of impervious surface expansion in urban areas has been a great deal all over the world. The impact of this expansion has been challenging the environment, people in particular. This study has considered the expansion in urban imperviousness as one of the root causes of urban water accumulation and the subsequent disturbances that people incur

Electrodeposited MnCo and MnNiCo Spinels for Anion Exchange Membrane Direct Ammonia Fuel Cell Cathodes: An Alternative to Platinum

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 11, 15 June 2026.
Electrodeposited MnCoOX and MnNiCoOX spinels on Ni foam are evaluated as binder‐free, platinum group metal‐free cathodes in direct ammonia fuel cells. MnCoOX matches and surpasses Pt in oxygen reduction performance while tolerating ammonia crossover, whereas Ni incorporation dilutes the active Co–Mn sites and degrades performance.

Urbanization and hydrological dynamics: a 22-year assessment of impervious surface changes and runoff in an urban watershed

open access: yesFrontiers in Water
The frequency and intensity of flooding have been increasing in urban watersheds. Urbanization disrupts natural landscapes by replacing vegetated areas with impervious surfaces, reducing infiltration and increasing runoff. The objective of this study was
