Beat‐to‐Beat Stability of Implanted Pacemakers

Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology, 1979
A method of measuring and analyzing beat‐to‐beat interval stability of implanted pacemakers has been devised, and a number of normal and failing pacers have been studied in this way. It was seen that normal pacer rates were remarkably stable, but that abnormalities in beat‐to‐beat interval were found in 67.4% of all failing pacers.

Measuring Dental Implant Stability with the Advanced System for Implant Stability Testing (ASIST)

2023
A clinical way to non-invasively assess dental implant stability is important for long-term success of the implant. Dental implants are typically screw shaped prosthetics which fuse with the surrounding jaw bone through a process known as osseointegration, where newly formed bone is deposited on the implant surface, forming a direct structural ...

Autotransplantation using endosseous implants as stabilizers

Journal of Endodontics, 1991
The surgical transfer of a tooth from one site to another in the same individual is known as autotransplantation. Usually the tooth transferred is an unerupted or partially erupted third molar which is placed into a first molar position with some external fixation.

Proplast stabilized stemless trapezium implant

The Journal of Hand Surgery, 1984
Forty-five stemless Proplast-covered silicone rubber trapezium implants were used in 40 patients after trapeziectomy for either osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, or trauma. Three implants were later removed from two patients because of traumatic dislocations. One implant was removed from a patient after trauma because of persistent pain.

Development of implant movement checker for determining dental implant stability

Medical Engineering & Physics, 2004
Noninvasive and nondestructive mobility assessment of dental implants is very important and useful for dental implantation diagnostic-aids. The development of implant movement (IM) checker based on microcontroller is presented in this paper. Data acquisition system and bender-type piezoelectric probe were used to improve measurement quality to the ...

Impact of Implant Design on Primary Stability of Orthodontic Mini-implants

Journal of Orofacial Orthopedics / Fortschritte der Kieferorthopädie, 2008
Skeletal anchorage with mini-implants has greatly broadened the treatment possibilities in orthodontics over the last few years. To reduce implant failure rates, it is advisable to obtain adequate primary stability. The aim of this study was to quantitatively analyze the impact of implant design and dimension on primary stability.Forty-two porcine ...

Implant Stabilization Chemical and Biomechanical Considerations

Orthopedic Clinics of North America, 1973
SUMMARY The influence of implant chemistry and biomechanics on stabilization has been examined in terms of the interaction between the surface of an implant and adjacent tissue. The optimization of this interaction was postulated to depend on four key parameters: implant bulk chemistry, implant surface finish and shape, implant mechanical response ...

Implant-stabilized overdentures.

Dental update, 1998
Implant-stabilized overdentures can be used successfully to restore the edentulous mouth, and there are many good reasons why this treatment should be selected in preference to using fixed dentures. However, as with any treatment, there must be a strong commitment to after care if the overdenture is to remain successful.

An analytical model to measure dental implant stability with the Advanced System for Implant Stability Testing (ASIST)

Journal of the Mechanical Behavior of Biomedical Materials
A non-invasive method of quantitatively assessing dental implant stability is important to monitor its long-term health. The Advanced System for Implant Stability Testing (ASIST) is a noninvasive technique that couples the impact technique with a linear vibration model of the implant system, such that the measured signal can be used to determine a ...
