Evidence That the Protein Phosphatase Activity of PTEN Contributes to Embryonic Development and Tumor Suppression

Mice expressing only mutant PTEN Y138L, a protein which shows normal suppression of cellular AKT yet lacks protein phosphatase activity, die in utero, and heterozygous mice display a range of tumors. This indicates both the lipid and protein phosphatase activities of PTEN work together for normal tumor suppression and embryonic development.

In Defence of Oblique Intention

Abstract Recent work on lying has revived an old action‐theoretic category: oblique, or indirect, intention. I argue that some liars intend deception obliquely. Sneddon objects that this category is drastic and unjustified: it counts all foreseen side‐effects as intended. My response is that oblique intention is not mere foresight.

Retrospective Analysis of Pseudotumor of the Hip: Clinical Management and Outcomes

Left Internal Mammary Artery Injury After Pacemaker Lead Implant—Case Report and Review of Literature

ABSTRACT We hereby report a case of a 75‐year‐old patient who developed a large left‐sided hemopneumothorax after a routine dual‐chamber pacemaker insertion. The rare complication was caused by the pacing lead injuring the left internal mammary artery (LIMA) after perforating the right ventricle.
