Nonthermal plasma approaches for combating implant‐associated infections: A compendious review
Implant‐associated infections pose serious clinical challenges. Non‐thermal plasma (NTP) modifications overcome this bottleneck in distinct ways relative to traditional sterilization methods. Gas‐phase plasmas generate highly energetic species, UV radiation and reactive oxygen/nitrogen species (RONS), which alter the implant surface properties.

Bone stability after regenerative peri‐implantitis treatment: A 10‐year follow‐up case study
Abstract Background Peri‐implantitis poses a significant challenge to implant longevity, leading to progressive bone loss and potential implant failure. While reconstructive surgery has been proven effective in regenerating peri‐implant tissues, the long‐term stability of the regenerated tissues and the impact of supportive peri‐implant care (SPIC) on ...

Biosafety of Implantoplasty in the Treatment of Peri-Implantitis
Dental implantology has transformed modern dentistry, providing long-lasting solutions for patients with various types of edentulism. However, the increased use of dental implants has led to more complications. Peri-implantitis, an inflammatory disease affecting tissues around implants, causes bone loss and can lead to implant failure if untreated. The

Surgical treatment of refractory peri‐implant mucositis with a free gingival graft (FGG) was effective in disease resolution, achieving reductions in probing pocket depth (PPD) and inflammation. Significant gains in mucosal thickness (MT) and keratinized mucosa width (KMW), as well as partial recession coverage and re‐establishment of attached mucosa ...

Peri‐Implantitis and Periodontitis: Biological Convergence, Contextual Divergence
Periodontal and peri‐implant tissues differ and coincide in many aspects, from the clinical and radiological perspective, including histology, microbiology, and molecular markers. Thus, health and disease may also follow different and similar routes.

The effects of implantoplasty on implant design characteristics and mechanical strength
Implantoplasty is defined as the mechanical removal of the implant threads and the macroscopically rough implant surface. Clinical outcomes such as probing depth and bleed-ing on probing measurements were shown to improve significantly after ...
