Implementation fidelity in community-based interventions† [PDF]

open access: yesResearch in Nursing and Health, 2010
AbstractImplementation fidelity is the degree to which an intervention is delivered as intended and is critical to successful translation of evidence‐based interventions into practice. Diminished fidelity may be why interventions that work well in highly controlled trials may fail to yield the same outcomes when applied in real life contexts.

Fidelity of implementation

2021
It has been 14 years since the results from the initial Diabetes Prevention Program were published. Since then, this evidence-based program has been adapted by researchers to fit the needs, resources, culture, and language of various communities in diverse settings.

Toward the Effective and Efficient Measurement of Implementation Fidelity [PDF]

open access: yesAdministration and Policy in Mental Health and Mental Health Services Research, 2010
Implementation science in mental health is informed by other academic disciplines and industries. Conceptual and methodological territory charted in psychotherapy research is pertinent to two elements of the conceptual model of implementation posited by Aarons and colleagues (2010)--implementation fidelity and innovation feedback systems.

Implementers’ Perspectives on Fidelity of Implementation

Health Promotion Practice, 2016
Fidelity of implementation is an essential factor in realizing outcomes of evidence-based interventions. Yet perspectives vary on the degree to which fidelity is necessary or desirable, implementers may receive limited guidance on fidelity, and research on implementers’ understanding and operationalization of fidelity is lacking.

Implementation in Mathematics Education: Fidelity to Implementation Design and Fidelity to Innovation Theory

open access: yesImplementation and Replication Studies in Mathematics Education
Abstract The concept of fidelity is important to the implementation of mathematics education innovations. However, viewing fidelity as only adherence to protocols and planned activities may mean that the importance of underpinning causal mechanisms or innovation theory are not attended to fully. To expand and clarify the meaning of fidelity, I consider

Fidelity of Implementation

2023
In this chapter, I define treatment fidelity and discuss its application and importance in writing intervention research. After examining challenges in planning, assessing, and documenting treatment fidelity, I discuss multiple ways treatment fidelity has been measured and reported in writing intervention research. Specifically, I focus on ways writing

Implementation: Measuring and Explaining the Fidelity of CSR Implementation

Journal of Education for Students Placed at Risk (JESPAR), 2006
Comprehensive school reform (CSR) is only as effective as its implementation. By using data collected for the National Longitudinal Evaluation of Comprehensive School Reform (NLECSR), this article explores the factors that predict CSR model implementation and the ways that CSR model implementation varies.
