Phased inspections and their implementation

ACM SIGSOFT Software Engineering Notes, 1991
Since the 1970s, non-mechanical review methods have become very popular as verification tools for software products. Examples of existing review methods are formal reviews, walkthroughs, and inspections. Another example is Fagan Inspections, developed in 1976 by Michael Fagan in an effort to improve software quality and increase programmer pro ...

A Novel Implementation of Digital Phase Shifters

Bell System Technical Journal, 1975
A novel technique is presented for implementing a variable digital phase shifter which is capable of realizing noninteger delays. The theory behind the technique is based on the idea of first interpolating the signal to a high sampling rate, then using an integer delay, and finally decimating the signal back to the original sampling rate.

Phase diversity at THEMIS: first implementation

Astronomische Nachrichten, 2003
Phase diversity techniques actually provide robust post-processing methods to restore solar images degraded by seeing-optical aberrations. We present preliminary results of the application of a Partitioned Phase-Diverse Speckle (PPDS) technique at THEMIS. The images have been acquired using the IPM broad-band CCD camera and reduced using a suitable IDL

The COSINE Implementation Phase Review

Computer Networks and ISDN Systems, 1988
Abstract A large number of countries within Europe have given backing to the creation of a coordinated OSI-based network infrastructure for the research and development community by participating in the Eureka COSINE project. The technical specification of the infrastructure has been performed by RARE and is nearing completion. However, the nature of

Quad-phase-only filter implementation

Applied Optics, 1989
Some of the fastest commercially available coherent spatial light modulators are binary. This fact has motivated research on the binary phase-only filter, which is unfortunately unable to represent a complex filter function. A technique is introduced here with which a single binary device can be used to represent a complex filter with independent ...

The Design and Implementation Phases

1988
This chapter considers the final two phases in the OMT design process. These are the design and implementation phases. You may note that the last few chapters have been dedicated to the analysis phase, whereas the design and implementation phases are presented in a single chapter. This reflects the emphasis that OMT places on the analysis phase and the

Phased Inspections and Their Implementation

1992
Inspection of software work products is common practice and has been shown to be a valuable tool for the software engineer. However, we believe that the technology is not being exploited as fully as possible. We define an enhanced inspection technique called Phased Inspection that addresses the deficiencies of existing inspection techniques.

Optical implementation of a phase retrieval algorithm

Applied Optics, 1987
Optical systems that retrieve phase information from intensity information are presented. They are optical implementations of the Gerchberg-Saxton algorithm. The solution is achieved as oscillations build up inside a resonator where a photorefractive crystal serves as an amplifier or phase conjugate mirror.

COSINE: Ready to move into implementation phase

Computer Networks and ISDN Systems, 1989
Abstract An important step to improve the data communication infrastructure for European R&D has recently been set. The Policy Group of the EUREKA project COSINE (Cooperation for Open Systems Interconnection Networking in Europe) has agreed on the contents of the Implementation Phase of the project.

Implementation of the Principle Phase Decomposition Algorithm

IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2007
This paper outlines the implementation details and enhancements of a previously described new concept in blind seismic deconvolution that is referred to as principle phase decomposition (PPD). A requirement of the PPD algorithm is for the investigator to determine the seismogram's dominant frequency (DF) and corresponding principle phase components ...
