On‐Surface Synthesis of Bismuth Monolayers through Ice‐Confined Redox Reactions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We report an ice‐confined growth strategy for the synthesis of atomically thin 2D bismuth and related 2D metals. This approach involves rapid freezing of a BiCl3 aqueous solution on an aluminum foil using liquid nitrogen, which triggers interfacial redox reactions between the ice and the aluminum surface.

GENDER AS A MODERATOR IN PREDICTION OF HOMOPHOBIA

open access: yesPrimenjena Psihologija, 2016
Studies indicate complexity of causes for occurence and expression of homophobia, and indicate gender differences in its expression. However, studies that would investigate the relationship of known sources of homophobia, like implicit attitudes ...

A study of interface support mechanisms for interactive information retrieval [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Advances in search technology have meant that search systems can now offer assistance to users beyond simply retrieving a set of documents. For example, search systems are now capable of inferring user interests by observing their interaction, offering ...

Fluctuating Curvature and Actuation in 4D Printed Asymmetric Networks by Frontal Photopolymerization

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Asymmetric polymer networks, fabricated by frontal photopolymerization (FPP), are shown to exhibit curvature oscillations associated with monomer‐solvent exchanges during development and drying. We introduce a theoretical model for such dynamic curvature fluctuations and demonstrate the fabrication of bistable switches and self‐propelled materials that

A Dual-Template Prompted Mutual Learning Generative Model for Implicit Aspect-Based Sentiment Analysis

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Generative models have shown excellent results in aspect-based sentiment analysis tasks by predicting quadruples by setting specific template formats. The existing research predicts sentiment elements and enhances the dependency between elements using ...

Representation, space and Hollywood Squares: Looking at things that aren't there anymore [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
It has been argued that the human cognitive system is capable of using spatial indexes or oculomotor coordinates to relieve working memory load (Ballard, Hayhoe, Pook & Rao, 1997) track multiple moving items through occlusion (Scholl & Pylyshyn, 1999) or

Soft Robotic Excretory Care Simulator for Nursing Education: Functional and Perceptual Biomimetics Approach

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A soft robotic simulator is developed to replicate the digital removal of feces (DRF), a sensitive yet essential nursing procedure. Integrating soft actuators, sensors, and a realistic rectal model, the simulator balances functional fidelity with perceptual realism. Engineering evaluations and nurse feedback confirm its potential to enhance training in

“The Eye Of The Soul”: Phronesis And The Aesthetics Of Organizing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This paper first examines Aristotle\u27s original conceptualization of phronesis in the Nicomachean Ethics, arguing that it includes an important, implicit aesthetic aspect which is often overlooked in modern social science; second, it finds links ...

Notes on Type I Subjective Motion Expressions in English [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In this paper we deal with what Matsumoto calls Type I subjective motion expressions in English. According to Matsumoto they cannot occur with frequency adverbs and do not generally allow the progressive aspect.
