Stability of Nonlinear Implicit Differential Equations with Caputo–Katugampola Fractional Derivative

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
The purpose of this paper is to study nonlinear implicit differential equations with the Caputo–Katugampola fractional derivative. By using Gronwall inequality and Banach fixed-point theorem, the existence of the solution of the implicit equation is ...

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Linear-implicit strong schemes for Itô-Galkerin approximations of stochastic PDEs

open access: yes, 2010
Linear-implicit versions of strong Taylor numerical schemes for finite dimensional Itô stochastic differential equations (SDEs) are shown to have the same order as the original scheme.

Fast implicit schemes for the fokker-planck-landau equation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
We propose time implicit schemes to solve the homogeneous Fokker-Planck-Landau equation in both the isotropic and 3D geometries. These schemes have properties of conservation and entropy. Moreover, they allow for large time steps, making them faster than

Talking about mental illness, professional help, self-esteem and health. A structural equation model of implicit and explicit internalized stigma

open access: yes, 2021
This study aims to investigate the development and consequences of the internalized stigma (IS) explicitly and implicitly assessed, in relation to a longer time seeking professional help, avoidance of talking about the mental illness, self-esteem and ...

On the Lightweight Potential of Laser Additive Manufactured NiTi Triply Periodic Minimal Sheet Lattices

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores the lightweight potential of laser additive‐manufactured NiTi triply periodic minimal surface sheet lattices. It systematically investigates the effects of relative density and unit cell size on surface quality, deformation recovery, compression behavior, and energy absorption.

A Numerical–Experimental Approach for Multi‐Matrix Fiber‐Reinforced Plastics Characterization Using Finite Element Model Updating

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

Implicit and Iterative Methods for the Boltzmann Equation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
The paper presents some approximation methods for the Boltzmann equation. In the first part fully implicit discretization techniques for the spatially homogeneous Boltzmann equation are investigated.

A Simplified Laminar Flow Model for the Pultrusion of Glass Fiber/Polyethylene Terephthalate Commingled Yarns

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A simplified thermoplastic pultrusion model is developed to predict thermal fields in glass fiber/polyethylene terephthalate (GF/PET) composites with reduced computational cost. By combining effective material homogenization, validation against literature data, and Gaussian‐process‐based optimization, the study reveals how heating limits, pulling speed,
