Influence of Geometric Design on Mechanical Performance of Auxetic Metastructure

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Strategic geometric reinforcement transforms auxetic performance. This study evaluates 3D‐printed arrowhead metastructures, revealing that a modified design with local ring reinforcement suppresses premature failure to achieve superior energy absorption and structural efficiency.

Electrified Damage in Motion Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The electrified damage in motion systems is a fundamental framework presenting the degradation pathway arising from the coupling of electrical energy transport with mechanical contact and interfacial chemistry. The framework positions electrified damage as a distinct degradation regime with unique characteristic surface morphologies and failures of ...

Explicit–Implicit Co-Simulation Techniques for Dynamic Responses of a Passenger Car on Arbitrary Road Surfaces

open access: yesEngineering, 2019
To study the durability of a passenger car, this work investigates numerical simulation techniques. The investigations are based on an explicit–implicit approach in which substructure techniques are used to reduce the simulation time, allowing full ...

Multi-Reconstruction from Points Cloud by Using a Modified Vector-Valued Allen–Cahn Equation

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
The Poisson surface reconstruction algorithm has become a very popular tool of reconstruction from point clouds. If we reconstruct each region separately in the process of multi-reconstruction, then the reconstructed objects may overlap with each other ...

Implicit-implicit and parametric-implicit surface intersections in Euclidean n-space

open access: yesActa et Commentationes Universitatis Tartuensis de Mathematica, 2023
In this paper, we study the intersection problem of two surfaces in which at least one surface is given by its implicit equation in Euclidean n-space. We first obtain the curvatures of the transversal intersection curve of two implicit surfaces. Later, the intersection problem is studied for a parametric surface and an implicit surface in n-dimensional

Reduced Graphene Oxide Transparent Electrodes Enabling Compact Soft Tunable Lenses

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
By spray‐coating an elastomeric membrane with reduced graphene oxide (rGO) at various surface densities, elastomeric actuators are manufactured. Electro‐mechano‐optical characterizations show the suitability of rGO as an effective material for compliant, semi‐transparent electrodes, enabling soft electrically tunable lenses with a compact form factor ...

Complete Object-Compositional Neural Implicit Surfaces With 3D Pseudo Supervision

open access: yesIEEE Access
Neural implicit surface reconstruction has recently emerged as a prominent paradigm in multi-view 3D reconstruction using deep learning. In contrast to traditional multi-view stereo methods, signed distance function (SDF)-based approaches leverage neural

Numerical Simulation for Meniscus Bridge Formation and Breakage

open access: yesTribology Online, 2009
For mechanical devices in micro or nanometer scale, interactions between surfaces have become very important. When two surfaces approach each other, in the presence of meniscus bridges by liquid film on the surface or condensed water from humid air ...

Beyond Presumptions: Toward Mechanistic Clarity in Metal‐Free Carbon Catalysts for Electrochemical H2O2 Production via Data Science

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐free carbon catalysts enable the sustainable synthesis of hydrogen peroxide via two‐electron oxygen reduction; however, active site complexity continues to hinder reliable interpretation. This review critiques correlation‐based approaches and highlights the importance of orthogonal experimental designs, standardized catalyst passports ...

Rendering of Implicit Surfaces

open access: yes, 2014
This theses is focused on rendering of implicit surfaces. We are finding the ways how approach the issue and how to represent implicit surfaces, how to divide the scene and how to illuminate the ...
