The (im)possibility of filming Ibsen

open access: yesNordlit: Tidsskrift i litteratur og kultur, 2015
This article begins by taking the paucity of good filmed versions of Ibsen as an empirical fact or a given, as it were. It then introduces the Shakespeare premise, which it proceeds to adopt as valid. This opens up the possible conclusion that great film

Fictionally Fictional Object

open access: yesAsian Studies
Nothingness is inconceivable, yet at the same time it is not inconceivable because it is actually referred to. I propose several accessibility relations to illustrate that nothingness is not an object at all.

No-relationship between impossibility of faster-than-light quantum communication and distinction of ensembles with the same density matrix [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
It has been claimed in the literature that impossibility of faster-than-light quantum communication has an origin of indistinguishability of ensembles with the same density matrix. We show that the two concepts are not related.

Impossibility of Distinguishing Two Preparations for a Pure State from No-signaling

open access: yesQuanta, 2020
A pure state of a physical system can be prepared in an infinite number of ways. Quantum theory dictates that given a pure state of a physical system it is impossible to distinguish two preparation procedures.

Methylation biomarkers can distinguish pleural mesothelioma from healthy pleura and other pleural pathologies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

On an Impossibility of Establishing Dissent:

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Estudos da Presença, 2022
Inspired by the archival treatment of Michel Foucault, this article stems from the investigation that mapped articles on theater pedagogy in 10 scientific journals in the field of Arts and Performing Arts.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.
