3D‐Printed Giant Magnetoresistive (GMR) Sensors Based on Self Compliant Springs

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work explores 3D‐printed GMR sensors utilizing self‐compliant spring structures and conductive PLA composites. By optimizing arm width, we achieved high piezoresistive (0.34%/mm) and magnetoresistive (0.77%/mT) sensitivities. Demonstrated through Bluetooth‐integrated pressure and magnetic position sensing, these full printed low‐cost, customizable

Nishchindipur: The Impossibility of a Village Utopia

open access: yesOpen Library of Humanities, 2019
This article seeks to examine the persistence, in Indian and specifically Bengali literature of the twentieth century, of a contradiction: the myth of an ideal or utopian village set against actual experiences of suffering, inequality, and deprivation ...

Thermomechanical Fatigue and Creep–Fatigue Interaction of Inconel 718 Additively Manufactured by Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Thermomechanical fatigue tests of laser beam powder bed fusion (PBF‐LB) Inconel 718 show that the additively manufactured material reaches almost the lifetimes of conventionally‐rolled material under no‐dwell conditions. Introducing dwell times at the maximum temperature markedly reduces the lifetimes due to pronounced grain boundary sliding associated

Proofs by Reductio ad Impossibile in Aristotle’s Prior Analytics

open access: yesRevista de Filosofia Antiga, 2021
This paper aims at clarifying the procedure of proofs by reductio ad impossibile in Aristotle’s Prior Analytics, especially elucidating what can be taken as impossibility in such proofs.

A note on the Arrow’s impossibility theorem [PDF]

open access: yesEkonomski Anali, 2015
This paper generalizes Arrow’s impossibility theorem (Arrow 1950) in two directions. First we allow agents to have incomplete preferences, and the admissible domain of preferences can be a proper subset of the full domain.

The impossibility of non-signaling privacy amplification

open access: yes, 2009
Barrett, Hardy, and Kent have shown in 2005 that protocols for quantum key agreement exist the security of which can be proven under the assumption that quantum or relativity theory is correct.

Impact of Pre‐Oxidation Treatments on a Recycled MgO/Steel‐Composite as Carbon Free Anode in Aluminum‐Electrolysis Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Cermets (60 vol.% AISI 316L stainless steel, 40 vol.% recycled MgO), intended for use in aluminum electrolysis, were pre‐oxidized in three furnaces with different heating technologies and subjected to a cryolite corrosion test. The different atmospheres influenced the formation of oxide layers, which in turn affected corrosion resistance and ...

Impossibility theorems in multiple von Wright’s preference logic [PDF]

open access: yesEkonomski Anali, 2014
By using the standard combining logics technique (D. M. Gabbay 1999) we define a generalization of von Wright’s preference logic (G. H. von Wright 1963) enabling to express, on an almost propositional level, the individual and the social ...

Rafting of Ni‐Based Superalloys Under Multiaxial Load as Understood by Phase‐Field Simulations and Critical Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Phase‐field simulations coupled with dislocation‐density‐based crystal plasticity modeling reproduce γ′ rafting behavior in single‐crystal Ni‐based superalloys under varied loading conditions. The model captures both macroscopic creep and microscopic morphology evolution, with results matching high‐temperature creep experiments.
