High-Resolution, High b-Value Computed Diffusion-Weighted Imaging Improves Detection of Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma [PDF]

open access: yesCancers, 2022
Background: Our purpose was to investigate the potential of high-resolution, high b-value computed DWI (cDWI) in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) detection. Materials and Methods: We retrospectively enrolled 44 patients with confirmed PDAC. Respiratory-triggered, diffusion-weighted, single-shot echo-planar imaging (ss-EPI) with both conventional

Improved in-vivo cardiac DTI using optimal b-values [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance, 2014
Background There has been much recent interest in the microstructural information available using cardiac diffusion tensor imaging (cDTI)[1-3]. cDTI measures signal loss between a reference (b0) and a diffusion weighted image. The signal loss is caused by both diffusion and other sources of intravoxel incoherent motion, such as microvascular perfusion.

Damage evolution in marble under uniaxial compression monitored by Pressure Stimulated Currents and Acoustic Emissions

open access: yesFracture and Structural Integrity, 2019
The spatiotemporal evolution of damage in marble speci¬mens under uniaxial compression is monitored using Pressure Stimulated Currents (PSCs) and Acoustic Emissions (AEs). The novelty of the study is the use of an integrated grid of sensors (instead of a

Improved Detection of Heat Stroke-Induced Brain Injury by High B-Value Diffusion-Weighted Imaging [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Computer Assisted Tomography, 2011
We report a case of heat stroke in which detection of brain injury was improved by high b-value diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI). High b-value DWI revealed moderate to marked hyperintensity at/around bilateral dentate nuclei and part of thalami. Apparent diffusion coefficient maps revealed apparent diffusion coefficient decrease of the dentate lesions.

Multiple b-values improve discrimination of cortical gray matter regions using diffusion MRI: an experimental validation with a data-driven approach [PDF]

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance Materials in Physics, Biology and Medicine, 2021
Abstract Objective To investigate whether varied or repeated b-values provide better diffusion MRI data for discriminating cortical areas with a data-driven approach. Methods Data were acquired from three volunteers at 1.5T with b-values of 800, 1400, 2000 s/mm2 along 64 ...
