Gaussian-improved one-loop effective potential

Physical Review D, 1989
A new type of effective potential is proposed. It combines the ordinary one-loop effective potential and a Gaussian approximation within the method of the constraint effective potential. The potential contains the one-loop term and formally bounds the exact effective potential from above. \ensuremath{\lambda}${\ensuremath{\varphi}}^{4}$ field theory in

An improved potential for krypton

Molecular Physics, 1979
An improved potential for krypton is presented. It has the simple but realistic form used by Aziz and Chen for argon based on the HFD potential suggested by Ahlrichs et al. The potential, with known long-range behaviour, was fitted to second virial, viscosity and thermal conductivity data.

Improvements in Cascade Potential Transrormers

IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1963
This paper describes a new cascade potential transformer which exhibits improved characteristics and utilization of materials as compared with a prior cascade design and with conventional potential transformers. Modifications responsible for these advances include major changes in the magnetic and electric circuits as well as in the mechanical parts ...

Potential improvements in photometric accuracy

Symposium - International Astronomical Union, 1966
Photometric methods and techniques have reached a point at which a high degree of reliability can be achieved in principle. In actual practice, good photometric accuracy (in transfer work) can be characterized by accidental errors of the order of 0·01 to 0·02 magnitude and systematic errors less than 0·01 magnitude. The chief factors requiring critical

Collector Fields: Potential for Improvements

1986
Distributed solar thermal collector technology has undergone considerable development during the past decade. For example, peak efficiencies for parabolic trough collectors operating at 250 to 300°C have increased from about 50% ten years ago to 70% today.
