Impulse-based Control of an Impulsive Haptic Interface
Second Joint EuroHaptics Conference and Symposium on Haptic Interfaces for Virtual Environment and Teleoperator Systems (WHC'07), 2007In a previous paper, the authors presented the first haptic display capable of applying directly an impulse to its operator. The resulting immediate change in momentum is considered invaluable to make interactions with rigid virtual objects feel realistic. The size of the impulse is controlled by adapting the amount of momentum of a momentum wheel.

IMPULSIVE CONTROL OF CHAOTIC SYSTEM
International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2002This paper studies an impulsive control problem. By utilizing the method of Lyapunov functions, a set of impulsive stabilization criteria are established. These results are then applied to the Lorenz system. It is shown that by using impulsive feedback control, all the solutions of the Lorenz system will converge to an equilibrium point.

Impulse Control of Brownian Motion
Mathematics of Operations Research, 1983Consider a storage system, such as an inventory or cash fund, whose content fluctuates as a (μ, σ2) Brownian motion in the absence of control. Holding costs are continuously incurred at a rate proportional to the storage level and we may cause the storage level to jump by any desired amount at any time except that the content must be kept nonnegative.

Optimal Impulse Control of Portfolios
Mathematics of Operations Research, 1988An investor has the opportunity of holding shares in n risky assets and one nonrisky asset at every time in a fixed interval [t, T]. The risky assets are governed by a stochastic differential equation. At random instants of his choice he may intervene in order to rebalance his portfolio and consume a nonnegative amount of money.

Summary: In this paper, the concept and principles of impulsive control are presented. Impulsive control can be applied to a class of systems whose state variables are changeable in a very short time period. In particular, the asymptotic stability of the impulsive control of a nonlinear system is given.

Impulse Control of Interest Rates
SSRN Electronic Journal, 2013This paper examines the effect that a central bank's interventions have on longer term interest rate securities by examining a stochastic short rate process that can be controlled by the central bank. Rather than investigate the motivations for the intervention, we assume that the bank is able to quantify its preferences and tolerances for various ...

Variable Time Impulse System Optimization with Continuous Control and Impulse Control
Asian Journal of Control, 2013AbstractOptimal control of a variable time impulse system is considered in this study. Besides impulse control, the system is assumed to operate with continuous control also. Necessary conditions for the optimization of such system are derived using the calculus of variations.
