Maternal diabetes impairs fetal lung maturation, creating subclinical respiratory risks at birth. The study compared 37 newborns of diabetic mothers against 40 healthy controls using cord blood analysis and tidal breath measurements. Results showed elevated leptin alongside decreased ghrelin and adiponectin levels.

Discrepancy Between Airwave and Impulse Oscillometry Measurements of Impedance in Healthy Children
ABSTRACT Introduction Respiratory oscillometry (OSC) is a pulmonary function test that measures respiratory system impedance and is well‐suited for young children. Previous studies have suggested that there may be differences between impedance values obtained on different instruments, however, no studies comparing instruments have been done in healthy ...

Interdevice agreement in respiratory resistance values by oscillometry in asthmatic children
Background With several commercially available devices measuring respiratory impedance by oscillometry, the agreement between values obtained on different instruments or frequencies remains unclear. Our aim was to examine the agreement between resistance

Can Oscillometry Replace Spirometry as a Major Tool for Lung Function Testing? – An Overview
Developing countries face a huge challenge in managing obstructive lung disorders due to frequency, severity, management, and economic impact. Spirometry has been the popular choice to assess the severity and reversibility of airflow obstruction, but the

ABSTRACT Background Although survival for childhood acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) has improved, long‐term pulmonary function deficit remains a concern. We aimed to explore the prevalence of pulmonary function deficit and abnormal pulmonary function tests in childhood ALL survivors and clinical associations.

Values of Impulse Oscillometry in Healthy Mexican Children and Adolescents [PDF]
BACKGROUND: The impulse oscillometry system (IOS) is increasingly used to evaluate lung function, but individual results must be compared with appropriate reference values.
