Abstract Grounded on the Reflective–Impulsive Model, a recent study by Cheval, Sarrazin, Isoard-Gautheur, Radel, and Friese (2015) found support for an interactive pattern between reflective (i.e., physical activity intentions) and impulsive (i.e., impulsive approach tendencies towards sedentary behaviors; IASB) processes to prospectively predict ...

Physical properties and impulse strength of paper
Proceedings of the IEE Part A: Power Engineering, 1956It is shown that the impulse strength of oil-impregnated paper, measured on single sheets, is related to the impulse strength of a lapped dielectric using the same paper. Attempts are made to relate the impulse strength to physical characteristics of the paper.

Physical pain and impulsivity in alcohol-dependent patients
Addiction Research & Theory, 2016AbstractBackground: Physical pain and impulsivity are considered to be prevalent and significant factors that influence the course of alcohol dependence. The aim of the study was to investigate relationships between different dimensions of impulsivity and the current experience of physical pain in individuals entering alcohol treatment.Method: A sample

Impulsivity and Physical Aggression: Examining the Moderating Role of Anxiety
The American Journal of Psychology, 2014Abstract Individuals vary in their propensity to engage in aggressive behaviors, and recent research has sought to identify individual differences that contribute to a person’s propensity for physical aggression. Previous research has shown that impulsivity and aggression have a consistent relational pattern among many different samples.

Approximation of Impulse Responses of Filters Matched with Physically Possible Signals [PDF]
To solve a task of optimal filtration of physically possible signals accompanied by background noise it has been suggested to use real filters with impulse responses that approximate responses of ideal filters. It has been demonstrated that such approach may result in significantly reduced number of components of the matched filter.

The Physical Nature of the Nerve Impulse*
Nature, 1933ALL our sensations, all our movements, most of the activities of our nervous system, depend upon a certain transmitted disturbance which we call the nervous impulse: this, in the study of nerve activity, is what the atom, the electron and the quantum are to chemistry and physics.

Physics of the impulsive phase of solar flares
Advances in Space Research, 1982Abstract The physics of the impulsive phase of solar flares is discussed in relation to high resolution microwave, hard X-ray and ultraviolet observations. High spatial resolution observations of the structure of microwave flaring loops and their interpretation in terms of arcades of loops as the sites of primary energy release are presented ...
