Physical aggression is associated with heightened social reflection impulsivity.
Journal of Abnormal Psychology, 2019Physical aggression harms individuals, disrupts social functioning across multiple forms of psychopathology, and leads to destruction within communities. Physical aggression is associated with aberrations in the interpretation of ambiguous information. However, the specific cognitive mechanisms supporting this link remain elusive.

Impulsivity and physical activity: A T-Pattern detection of motor behavior profiles
Physiology & Behavior, 2020The relation between impulsivity and physical activity has been scantly investigated. Actually, during physical activity, several goals are achieved on the basis of a certain dose of impulsiveness. This study detects motor and interactive behavior profiles from athletes with traits of impulsiveness, moderate impulsiveness and non-impulsiveness ...

The physics and chemistry of impulsive pressures (review)
Journal of Engineering Physics, 1967Technical p r o g r e s s is l a rge ly determined by the creat ion of new ma te r i a l s with special physical p ro pe r t i e s sui table for se rv ice under ex t reme conditions. Such requi rements have led to the acce le ra ted development of h igh -p re s su re technology, the use of which in physical r e s e a r c h has, in turn, had an ...

Approximation of impulse controls
Computational Mathematics and Modeling, 2011The application of impulse controls--delta-function and its higher derivatives--essentially improves our ability to control various systems. However, the delta-function and its derivatives are "idealizations." Controls applied to model and control real systems are finite (although possibly quite large in magnitude).

On the impulse approximation in atomic collision physics
Physica, 1970Abstract Application of the quantum-mechanical impulse approximation in atomic collision physics leads to special problems caused by the long range of the Coulomb interaction between the individual particles. These problems are discussed using the exact T matrix as a starting point for the analysis.

A physically-based impulsive noise model for array observations
Conference Record of the Thirty-First Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers (Cat. No.97CB36136), 2002Impulsive interference has been measured previously in some wireless communication environments. Physically-based impulsive interference models have been lacking for cases where the antenna elements in an array are closely spaced. Such cases are important when spatial processing is employed.

On the physical properties of discharges in sand under lightning impulses
Journal of Electrostatics, 1993Abstract Experimental results of discharges in sand and air are presented. A coaxial cylindrical test cell was used. Three different types of sand grains were tested. No formation of large space charge in sand was detected before the breakdown.

Physical optics impulse response from faceted targets
IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium 1992 Digest, 1992In practical high-frequency RCS (radar cross section) computations, the most common method is to represent a complex target by thousands of triangular facets, and to calculate its frequency-domain scattering by the physical optics (PO) theory. The authors extend this method to the time domain, in which the incident plane wave is a pulse instead of a ...

From Room Impulse Responses to Wall Impulse Responses using Physics- Aware Deep Learning
2023The problem of estimating the reflectivity of surfaces in a room, i.e., the wall impulse responses, using a set of room impulse responses is studied. The geometry of the room and setup and the device responses are assumed approximately known. It is shown that a purely learning-based method trained on simulated data performs well on simple matched ...

Algorithm for computing the physical descriptor of environmental impulsive sounds
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1995Some considerations and information are provided on the previously proposed algorithm for computing the physical descriptor (Lφ) of environmental impulsive sounds. This parameter can be directly measured by a microprocessor-based apparatus recently presented in this Journal [G. B. Cannelli and S. Santoboni, J. Acoust. Soc. Am.
