Leonardo da Vinci: Cause, effect, linearity, and memory
In this contribution, some textual portions of the Leonardo da Vinci’s work were analyzed with the aim to highlight how, moving from Aristotle and going beyond him, he combines the intermediate positions that, from the Greek philosopher, passing through ...

Understanding the role of Quantum Chromodynamics in generating nuclear forces is important for uncovering the mechanism of short-ranged nuclear interactions and their manifestation in short range correlations (SRC). The future Electron-Ion-Collider (EIC)

The spatio-temporal structure of impulse-generated azimuthalsmall-scale Alfvén waves interacting with high-energy chargedparticles in the magnetosphere [PDF]
It is assumed to date that the energy source of azimuthal small-scale ULF waves in the magnetosphere (azimuthal wave numbers m≧1) is provided by the energetic particles interacting with the waves through the bounce-drift resonance.

Finite time St\"uckelberg interferometry with nanomechanical modes
St\"uckelberg interferometry describes the interference of two strongly coupled modes during a double passage through an avoided energy level crossing.

Room impulse response reconstruction with physics-informed deep learning
A method is presented for estimating and reconstructing the sound field within a room using physics-informed neural networks. By incorporating a limited set of experimental room impulse responses as training data, this approach combines neural network processing capabilities with the underlying physics of sound propagation, as articulated by the wave ...

Mechanical pressure and momentum conservation in dry active matter
We relate the breakdown of equations of states for the mechanical pressure of generic dry active systems to the lack of momentum conservation in such systems. We show how sources and sinks of momentum arise generically close to confining walls.

Dynamically assisted tunneling in the impulse regime
We study the enhancement of tunneling through a potential barrier V(x) by a time-dependent electric field with special emphasis on pulse-shaped vector potentials such as A_{x}(t)=A_{0}/cosh^{2}(ωt). In addition to the known effects of preacceleration and

Electron-deuteron scattering in a relativistic theory of hadrons [PDF]
We review a three-dimensional formalism that provides a systematic way to include relativistic effects including relativistic kinematics, the effects of negative-energy states, and the boosts of the two-body system in calculations of two-body bound ...

The paper describes the occurrence of a pair of oppositely directed sudden impulses (SI), in the geomagnetic field ($\Delta$X), at ground stations, called SI${^{+}}$ -- SI${^{-}}$ pairs, that occurred between 1835 UT and 2300 UT on 23 April 1998. The SI${
