Dynamic programming for impulse controls
Annual Reviews in Control, 2008Abstract This paper describes the theory of feedback control in the class of inputs which allow delta-functions and their derivatives. It indicates a modification of dynamic programming techniques appropriate for such problems. Introduced are physically realizable bang-bang-type approximations of the “ideal” impulse-type solutions.

Impulsive control for fast nanopositioning
Nanotechnology, 2011In this paper we present a non-linear control scheme for high-speed nanopositioning based on impulsive control. Unlike in the case of a linear feedback controller, the controller states are altered in a discontinuous manner at specific instances in time.

Deterministic Impulse Control Problems
SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, 1985The paper deals with the stationary optimal control problem of impulsive type. The available controls are continuous and impulsive and the controlled system is governed by ordinary differential equations in \(R^ N\). The main result of the paper states that the optimal cost function u associated to the control problem is the unique viscosity solution ...

Impulsivity, Locus of Control and Education
Psychological Reports, 1987The adult version of the Nowicki-Strickland Internal-External Locus of Control Scale and the Barratt Impulsiveness Scale were given to 359 adults. Scores on the two instruments were only weakly correlated. Education, however, separated individuals high and low in impulsiveness and persons with external and internal loci of control.
