Momentum relaxation of a mobile impurity in a one-dimensional quantum gas [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The motion of an impurity atom in a degenerate Tonks-Girardeau gas is investigated in the regime of weak impurity-host coupling. It is shown that given some initial momentum $p_0$ an impurity relaxes to a steady state with a non-vanishing average ...

Laboratory‐Scale Procedure for Evaluating the Flux Efficiency on Melt Cleanliness and Tensile Properties of Recycled Aluminum Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A laboratory‐scale procedure is developed to evaluate the efficiency of melt‐cleaning and drossing fluxes during aluminium alloy recycling, studying their effects on melt cleanliness and tensile properties of secondary foundry alloys. This work provides a practical tool for foundries and aluminium refiners to assess the efficiency of salt fluxes in ...

Kink dynamics in the φ4 model with two extended impurities [PDF]

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений: Прикладная нелинейная динамика
The purpose of this study is to use numerical methods to consider the problem of nonlinear kink dynamics for the φ4 equation in a model with two identical extended «impurities» (or spatial inhomogeneity of the potential). Methods.

Electronic impurity doping in CdSe nanocrystals.

open access: yesNano letters (Print), 2012
We dope CdSe nanocrystals with Ag impurities and investigate their optical and electrical properties. Doping leads not only to dramatic changes but surprising complexity.

Surface Modification of Sol–Gel Synthesized Ba0.85Ca0.15Zr0.1Ti0.9O3 using Stearic Acid Additives

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores a novel approach to enhance the piezoelectric performance of lead‐free BCZT ceramics synthesized via the sol–gel method. By coating the BCZT powder with only a 0.69 nm stearic acid layer, the electromechanical response is significantly boosted up to 359 pC N−1, revealing promising implications for high‐performance sensor and ...

Impurity effect on weak antilocalization in the topological insulator Bi2Te3. [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2010
We study the weak antilocalization (WAL) effect in topological insulator Bi(2)Te(3) thin films at low temperatures. The two-dimensional WAL effect associated with surface carriers is revealed in the tilted magnetic field dependence of magnetoconductance.

Exploring Dipolar Dynamics and Ionic Transport in Metal‐Organic Frameworks: Experimental and Theoretical Insights

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, the interplay of dipolar dynamics and ionic charge transport in MOF compounds is investigated. Synthesizing the novel structure CFA‐25 with integrated freely rotating dipolar groups, local and macroscopic effects, including interactions with Cs cations are explored.

Modelling of ohmic startup and runaway electron formation in support of JT-60SA initial operation

open access: yesNuclear Fusion, 2022
The plasma startup with ITER-relevant sub-mPa neutral pressures in the JT-60SA superconducting tokamak is studied using a zero-dimensional (0D) power balance model for the plasma burn-through phase.

Achieving Large and Anisotropic Spin‐Mediated Thermal Transport in Textured Quantum Magnets

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 12, March 18, 2025.
An advanced solvent‐cast cold pressing method is developed to synthesize highly textured quantum magnets. By aligning spin chains in Ca2CuO3 perpendicular to the pressing direction, a spin‐mediated thermal conductivity of 10 ± 1 W m⁻¹ K⁻¹ is achieved, the highest reported for polycrystalline quantum materials.
