Trace Nickel Activated Biphasic Core‐CuOii/Shell‐CuOi Secondary Microspheres Enable Room Temperature Parts‐Per‐Trillion‐Level NO2 Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An idea of designing novel sensors is proposed by creating appropriate Schottky barriers and vacancies between isomorphous Core‐CuOii/ Shell‐CuOi secondary microspheres and enhancing catalytic and spill‐over effects, and electronegativity via spontaneous biphasic separation, self‐assembly, and trace‐Ni‐doping.

Study of the possibility of diamond formation at moderate pressures and temperatures [PDF]

open access: yesФизико-химические аспекты изучения кластеров, наноструктур и наноматериалов, 2017
Data on the diamond synthesis in experiments with carbon-saturated metal melts at moderate pressures and temperatures are presented. Features of the resulting diamond phase, the types and nature of inclusions are discussed and compared with those for ...

Antibunching Effects in the Hybrid Cavity–Bose–Einstein Condensates System

open access: yesPhotonics, 2023
We theoretically study the model of a hybrid cavity–Bose–Einstein condensates (BEC) system that consists of a two-level impurity atom coupled to a cavity–BEC system with radiation pressure coupling, where the system is weakly driven by a monochromatic ...

Single Impurity Effects in Multiband Superconductors with Different Sign Order Parameters

open access: yes, 2009
A single impurity problem is investigated for multiband s-wave superconductors with different sign order parameters (+-s-wave superconductors) suggested in Fe-pnictide superconductors. Not only intraband but also interband scattering is considered at the

Impurity Ion Complexation Enhances Carbon Dioxide Reduction Catalysis

open access: yes, 2015
Herein, we show that group 11 CO2 reduction catalysts are rapidly poisoned by progressive deposition of trace metal ion impurities present in high purity electrolytes.

Continuous-time solver for quantum impurity models. [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2005
We present a new continuous-time solver for quantum impurity models such as those relevant to dynamical mean field theory. It is based on a stochastic sampling of a perturbation expansion in the impurity-bath hybridization parameter.

Recent Advancements in Bulk Processing of Rare‐Earth‐Free Hard Magnetic Materials and Related Multiscale Simulations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article provides an overview of recent advancements in bulk processing of rare‐earth‐free hard magnetic materials. It also addresses related simulation approaches at different scales. The research on rare‐earth‐free magnetic materials has increased significantly in recent years, driven by supply chain issues, environmental and social concerns, and

The interplay between electron-electron interactions and impurities in one-dimensional rings

open access: yes, 1994
The persistent current and charge stiffness of a one-dimensional Luttinger liquid on a ring threaded by a magnetic flux are calculated by Monte Carlo simulation. By changing the random impurity potential strength and the electron-electron interaction, we

Theoretical description of heavy impurity transport and its application to the modelling of tungsten in JET and ASDEX upgrade [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The effects of poloidal asymmetries and heated minority species are shown to be necessary to accurately describe heavy impurity transport in present experiments in JET and ASDEX Upgrade. Plasma rotation, or any small background electrostatic field in the
