Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.

Stability of Weyl metals under impurity scattering
We investigate the effects of bulk impurities on the electronic spectrum of Weyl semimetals, a recently identified class of Dirac-type materials. Using a $T$-matrix approach, we study resonant scattering due to a localized impurity in tight binding ...

The presented study focuses on the fracture behaviour of carbon‐bonded magnesia MgO–C refractories, where environmentally friendly fructose, collagen and lignin serve as temporary binding agents. The partial substitution of the source material with recycled MgO–C reduces the fracture resistance, which can be counteracted by the additional introduction ...

Thermal fluctuations of director orientation in nematic liquid crystals with inclusions
We investigate thermal fluctuations of order parameters (director for mesomorphic subsystem and density for isomorphic liquid) in filled liquid crystal. We consider finite-size system with geometry of plane-parallel layer with zero boundary condition. We

Quantum impurity on the surface of a topological insulator
It is shown that the Hamiltonian for a quantum magnetic impurity on the surface of a topological insulator can be mapped to the conventional pseudo-gap Anderson impurity model, albeit with the combinations of continuum states which hybridize with the ...

Four‐point bending tests are conducted in an argon atmosphere on commercial MgO‐C brick grades with and without MgO‐C recyclate from room temperature up to 1300 °C. No detrimental effect of the MgO‐C recyclates on bending strength is found. Instead, a decisive influence of the total carbon content is observed, with lower total carbon contents ...

Experimental evidences of the shape-induced structural distortion of SrTiO3 single crystals from impurity Mn4+ ions electron paramagnetic resonance [PDF]
A study of high-quality SrTiO3 single crystals doped with the Mn4+ ions in the cubic phase (T > 105 K) with X-band electron paramagnetic resonance reveals direct correspondence between a shape of a sample and magnetic anisotropy of the impurity Mn4 ...

Profane Shakespeare: Perfection, Pollution, and the Truth of Performance
The focus in the present collection of articles was born from a double sense of urgency, one prompted by a global context marked by the resurgence of religious discourses on purity and condemnations of alleged impurity, and, on a smaller scale, by a ...

This study investigates thermo‐chemical processes during high‐temperature testing of two commercial MgO‐C brick grades, one containing 47.5 wt.% MgO‐C recyclate. Using ETV, DTA/TG‐MS, XRD, and SEM/EDS/EBSD, mechanisms such as carbothermal reduction of magnesia, impurity incorporation into the secondary MgO surface layer, and calcium‐rich phase ...
