Integrated modeling of RF-induced tungsten erosion at ICRH antenna structures in the WEST tokamak

open access: yesNuclear Fusion
This paper introduces STRIPE (Simulated Transport of RF Impurity Production and Emission), an advanced modeling framework developed to analyze material erosion and the global transport of eroded impurities originating from radio-frequency (RF) antenna ...

Trap‐Modified Inverted Organic Photodetectors via Layer‐by‐Layer Processing with Poly(N‐vinylcarbazole) Additives

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Trap state engineering in inverted organic photodetectors (OPDs) is achieved via combined layer‐by‐layer (LbL) processing and poly(N‐vinylcarbazole) (PVK) incorporation. LbL reduces the trap density while PVK additives gradually shift trap states from shallow band‐edge to deep mid‐gap levels, tailoring the energy distribution.

Edge and core impurity behavior and transport in EAST H-mode plasma with internal transport barrier

open access: yesNuclear Fusion
After installation of tungsten divertor in EAST, impurity accumulation of tungsten ions has been frequently observed in H-mode discharge with internal transport barrier (ITB) due to an enhancement of the impurity confinement inside the ITB.

Transport analysis of high radiation and high density plasmas in the ASDEX Upgrade tokamak

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2014
Future fusion reactors, foreseen in the “European road map” such as DEMO, will operate under more demanding conditions compared to present devices. They will require high divertor and core radiation by impurity seeding to reduce heat loads on divertor ...

Electronic Transport in Unconventional Superconductors

open access: yes, 1998
We investigate the electronic transport coefficients in unconventional superconductors at low temperatures, where charge and heat transport are dominated by electron scattering from random lattice defects. We discuss the features of the pairing symmetry,

Germanane Quantum Dots Promote Metabolic Reprogramming of Immune Cells Toward Regulatory T Cells and Suppress Inflammation In Vitro and In Vivo

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metabolic changes in immune cells direct the phenotype and function of the host immune system. Smart nanomaterials must target metabolic pathways to direct immune cell fate. This study reports the fabrication and first application of germanane quantum dots (GeHQDs) to modulate inflammation in vitro and in vivo.

Gyrokinetic simulations of electrostatic microturbulence in ADITYA-U tokamak with argon impurity

open access: yesNuclear Fusion
The effect of impurity on the electrostatic microturbulence in ADITYA-U tokamak is assessed using global gyrokinetic simulations. The realistic geometry and experimental profiles of the ADITYA-U are used, before and after argon gas seeding, to perform ...

Efficient NiOx Hole Transport Layers Enabled by Multifunctional MXenes for High‐Performance Tin‐Lead Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An efficient NiOx HTL is successfully prepared by introducing MXene as an additive without further surface modification to fabricate high‐performance FASn0.5Pb0.5I3 perovskite solar cells. The introduction of MXene contributes to improved conductivity of NiOx, better aligned at NiOx/perovskite interfaces, and enhanced quality of perovskite films ...

Toughening β‐Ga2O3 via Mechanically Seeded Dislocations

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
β‐Ga2O3 is promising for next‐generation semiconductors but its brittleness limits flexible and high‐precision applications. Here, mechanically seeded dislocations introduced by surface deformation improved damage tolerance in (001) β‐Ga2O3. Nanoindentation and characterization show dislocations suppress cleavage cracks by enabling stable plastic ...

Turbulent drifts of impurity ions as an explanation for anomalous radial transport in the far-SOL of DIII-D

open access: yesNuclear Fusion
Successful fusion reactor operation relies on minimal core contamination by impurities, otherwise too much power may be radiated and harm performance. This requires reliable predictions of impurity transport from the scrape-off layer (SOL) into the core,
