Social network dynamics under experimental manipulations of predation risk and food abundance in wild rock hyraxes

Journal of Animal Ecology, EarlyView.
This study combines replicated experimental manipulation, social network analysis, network permutations and meta‐analysis to disentangle active from spatially‐induced changes in animal network structure in the wild. It reveals that short‐term environmental changes primarily alter space use, with limited effects on social structure.

First-order logic with metric betweenness – the case of non-definability of some graph classes

AKCE International Journal of Graphs and Combinatorics
The metric betweenness of a connected graph and arbitrary graphs is FO definable. Moreover, several interesting classes of graphs with strong distance properties are shown to be FO definable using metric betweenness.

Social organization and habitat use shape the gut microbiome of a marine fish

This study provides the first evidence linking habitat use—and to a lesser extent social organization—to gut microbiome composition in a wild marine fish. The results indicate that local habitat conditions are the primary driver of microbial variation, while social effects are detectable but weak.

ABSTRACT This study investigates the association between audit committee member networks and audit fees in a sample of 225 publicly traded firms from eight European countries between 2005 and 2020.
