Chaotic moving video quality enhancement based on deep in-loop filtering

open access: yesDigital Communications and Networks
The Joint Video Experts Team (JVET) has announced the latest generation of the Versatile Video Coding (VVC, H.266) standard. The in-loop filter in VVC inherits the De-Blocking Filter (DBF) and Sample Adaptive Offset (SAO) of High Efficiency Video Coding (

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Design and control of the single-phase H6-type grid-connected inverter with LCL filter

open access: yesDianzi Jishu Yingyong, 2018
In order to reduce the total harmonic distortion(THD) of the grid-connected current caused by the high-frequency switching of the inverter, this paper combines the high efficiency single-phase H6-type inverter with LCL filter.

A nonlinear filter for compensating for time delays in manual control systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
A nonlinear filter configured to provide phase lead without accompanying gain distortion is analyzed and evaluated. The nonlinear filter is superior to a linear lead/lag compensator in its ability to maintain system stability as open loop crossover ...

Spatial-Temporal Residue Network Based In-Loop Filter for Video Coding

open access: yes, 2017
Deep learning has demonstrated tremendous break through in the area of image/video processing. In this paper, a spatial-temporal residue network (STResNet) based in-loop filter is proposed to suppress visual artifacts such as blocking, ringing in video ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Analog Least Mean Square Loop for Self-Interference Cancellation: A Practical Perspective

open access: yesSensors, 2020
Self-interference (SI) is the key issue that prevents in-band full-duplex (IBFD) communications from being practical. Analog multi-tap adaptive filter is an efficient structure to cancel SI since it can capture the nonlinear components and noise in the ...

Method for culturing mammalian cells in a perfused bioreactor [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
A bio-reactor system wherein a tubular housing contains an internal circularly disposed set of blade members and a central tubular filter all mounted for rotation about a common horizontal axis and each having independent rotational support and ...

Real-time state of charge estimation of electrochemical model for lithium-ion battery [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
This paper proposes the real-time Kalman filter based observer for Lithium-ion concentration estimation for the electrochemical battery model. Since the computation limitation of real-time battery management system (BMS) micro-processor, the battery ...

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.
