NB-Cache: Non-Blocking In-Network Caching for High-Performance Content Routers
IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking, 2021Information-Centric Networking (ICN) provides scalable and efficient content distribution at the Internet scale due to in-network caching and native multicast. To support these features, a content router needs high performance at its data plane, which consists of three forwarding steps: checking the Content Store (CS), then the Pending Interest Table ...

SHINE: Secure Hybrid In Network caching Environment
2018 International Symposium on Networks, Computers and Communications (ISNCC), 2018In this paper we look after the secure delivery of multimedia content across an innovative Content Delivery Network comprising both satellite and terrestrial trunks. The CDN in question leverages state-of-the-art technologies both at the edges and in the core of the integrated distribution architecture and highly relies upon in-network caching ...

Cost efficiency of mobile in‐network caching
International Journal of Network Management, 2015SummaryMobile data volume is growing with an annual compound rate of 61% between 2014 and 2019. To cope with the data volume growth, a more dynamic and flexible network is needed. Caching has been deployed by both mobile network operators and content providers to reduce the load on centralized data centers and gateways.

Distributed cache management considering content popularity for in-network caching
2017 23rd Asia-Pacific Conference on Communications (APCC), 2017This paper proposes a new cache management method considering the popularity of contents for in-network caching. In networks with in-network caching, routers store contents in their cache and users can download them from the routers. By utilizing cached contents, the loads for content servers and networks can be reduced.

BidCache: Auction-Based In-Network Caching in ICN
2016 IEEE Globecom Workshops (GC Wkshps), 2016In Information Centric Networks, each node on the Data delivery path has the ability to cache the data items that flow through it. However, each node takes the decision on whether to cache a particular data item or not independently from the other nodes on the Data delivery path.

Enhancing in-network caching by coupling cache placement, replacement and location
2015 IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC), 2015As a distinctive feature of Information Centric Networking (ICN), in-network caching plays a fundamental role on system performance. The line-speed requirement of in-network caching invalidates the employ of complex collaborative caching schemes. The cache management of in-network caching includes three components - cache placement, cache replacement ...

InCan: In-network cache assisted eNodeB caching mechanism in 4G LTE networks
Computer Networks, 2014Abstract The rapid growth of wireless data networks has introduced unprecedented traffic that far exceeds the deployment of cellular infrastructures. Caching has been a common approach for coping with the increased amount of traffic. In this paper we propose an in-network cache assisted eNodeB caching mechanism for 4G LTE Networks.

Could End System Caching and Cooperation Replace In-Network Caching in CCN?
ACM SIGCOMM Computer Communication Review, 2015CCN has been witnessed as a promising future Internet architecture. In-network caching has been paid much attention, but there is still no consensus on its usage, due to its non-negligible costs. Meanwhile, massive storage and bandwidth resources of end systems still remain underutilized.

We present a general framework for the development of on-line algorithms for data management in networks. These algorithms dynamically create and delete copies of shared data objects that can be read or written by the nodes in the network. Our algorithms aim to minimize the congestion (i.e., the maximum communication load over all network resources ...

Analysis of in-network caching for ICN
2016 IEEE Annual India Conference (INDICON), 2016Information Centric Networking (ICN) is one of the proposed alternative paradigms to improve traditional network performance. In ICN architecture, caching is used to enhance the efficiency of the content distribution. The major challenge for designing caching in ICN architecture is determining how a content is cached, including both the content ...
