Activities Awareness in a Cache Network
11th International Conference on Parallel and Distributed Systems (ICPADS'05), 2005In this paper, we propose CacheWire to instill collaboration among caches in a distributed environment for query retrieval. CacheWire is based on the observation of human behavior mainly reflecting intelligence, memory residue and communication corresponding to the processor, cache and network messaging units in a distributed network.

Coded Caching for Relay Networks: The Impact of Caching Memories
2020 IEEE Information Theory Workshop (ITW), 2021Relay is a traditional key technology to improve the communication reliability and enlarge the covering range of service. Recently, coded caching schemes that reduce traffic congestion through coding and injecting duplicate data among users have attracted wide interests.

CryptoCache: Network caching with confidentiality
2017 IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC), 2017End-to-end encryption seemingly signifies the death of caching, because current methods ensure that no two sessions are alike. In this paper, we show that servers can reuse encrypted content between sessions, thereby rejuvenating caching. The main idea of our technique is to allow interim nodes to cache content based on pseudo-identifiers instead of ...

On the steady-state of cache networks
2013 Proceedings IEEE INFOCOM, 2013Over the past few years Content-Centric Networking, a networking model in which host-to-content communication protocols are introduced, has been gaining much attention. A central component of such an architecture is a large-scale interconnected caching system. To date, the way these Cache Networks operate and perform is still poorly understood. In this

Universally Stable Cache Networks
IEEE INFOCOM 2020 - IEEE Conference on Computer Communications, 2020We consider a cache network in which intermediate nodes equipped with caches can serve content requests. We model this network as a universally stable queuing system, in which packets carrying identical responses are consolidated before being forwarded downstream.

We present a general framework for the development of on-line algorithms for data management in networks. These algorithms dynamically create and delete copies of shared data objects that can be read or written by the nodes in the network. Our algorithms aim to minimize the congestion (i.e., the maximum communication load over all network resources ...

Caching in opportunistic networks with churn
2012 9th Annual Conference on Wireless On-Demand Network Systems and Services (WONS), 2012In this paper we examine opportunistic content distribution. We design and evaluate a caching strategy where a node will fetch and share contents on behalf of other nodes, although the contents are not of its own interest. We propose three caching options for improving the use of network resources: relay request on demand, hop-limit, and greedy relay ...

Network Interface Data Caching
IEEE Transactions on Computers, 2005Network interface data caching reduces local interconnect traffic on network servers by caching frequently-requested content on a programmable network interface. The operating system on the host CPU determines which data to store in the cache and for which packets it should use data from the cache.

Popularity-Based Content Cache Management for in-Network Caching
2019 International Conference on Information Networking (ICOIN), 2019In-network caching is a technique that stores contents in caches of routers, and thus reduces the loads for content servers and networks. To further enhance the performance of in-network caching, this paper proposes a popularity-based content cache management method.

Coded caching for combination networks with cache-aided relays
2017 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory (ISIT), 2017We study a two-hop cache-aided network, where a layer of relay nodes connects a server and a set of end users, i.e., a combination network. We consider the case where both the relay nodes and the end users have caching capabilities. We provide upper and lower bounds which are applicable to any combination network, noting that previous work had focused ...
