Characterization of therapeutic antibodies targeting lymphatic and vascular resistance factor for the treatment of hypervascularized and highly metastatic cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
LVRF (lymphatic and vascular resistance factor) is a VEGFA splice variant upregulated in response to anti‐angiogenic therapy that fosters tumor adaptation through enhanced vascularization, lymphangiogenesis, and metastatic dissemination. Targeting LVRF with fully human neutralizing antibodies disrupts these processes and limits resistant tumor growth ...

Fatigue Reliability Analysis of Rib-To-Deck Joints Using Test Data and In-Situ Measurements

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
In this paper, the fatigue performance of rib-to-deck joints in orthotropic steel decks (OSDs) using thickened edge U-ribs (TEUs) and the OSD using conventional U-ribs (CUs) are investigated based on the fatigue test result and in-situ monitoring data ...

Reprogramming tumor cells with LCOR mRNA nanotherapy to enhance immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
LCOR (Ligand‐dependent corepressor) mRNA encapsulated in polymeric nanoparticles restores LCOR activity in tumor cells, constraining aggressive tumor cell states and increasing tumor immunogenicity. This reprogramming makes tumor cells more vulnerable to T‐cell attack and enhances their response to immune‐checkpoint immunotherapy.

TRPML1 agonist ML‐SA5 attenuates pulmonary fibroblast activation by suppressing mTOR and restoring autophagic flux

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
TGF‐β1 stimulation downregulates lysosomal channel TRPML1 in pulmonary fibroblasts. The TRPML1 agonist ML‐SA5 suppressed fibroblast‐to‐myofibroblast activation and collagen production. Mechanistically, ML‐SA5 inhibited mTOR phosphorylation, restored autophagic flux, and its effects were enhanced by rapamycin (mTOR inhibitor) and reversed by MHY1485 ...

Clinical Impact of MGMT Promoter Methylation in IDH‐Mutant Gliomas: Influence of Threshold Selection and Clinical Confounding

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background The clinical relevance of MGMT promoter methylation in IDH‐mutant gliomas remains controversial in the era of molecular classification. We aimed to systematically evaluate its clinical relevance by integrating quantitative assessment, cutoff exploration, and adjustment for clinical confounding.

Development of in-situ SEM torsion tester for microscale materials

open access: yes, 2019
An in-situ SEM (scanning electron microscope) micro-torsion tester with high resolution is developed based on electromagnetism. The torque is controlled and measured using a coil-magnet component. The torsion angle is measured by a non-contact transducer

Study on a New Type of Annular Elliptic Finned Tube Evaporative Condenser

open access: yesZhileng xuebao, 2020
A new evaporative condenser with an annular elliptic finned tube heat exchanger (AEFTHE) was designed and theoretically analyzed in this study. The cooling water flowed inside the round inner tube, while the spray water and cooling air passed outside the

Survival Outcomes in Older Adults With Axial Spondyloarthritis and Concomitant Cancer

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective The objective of this study was to determine survival outcomes in older adults with axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) and concomitant cancer. Methods We conducted a population‐based study using Medicare claims data linked to Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results data to determine overall survival (OS) and cancer‐specific survival (CSS) in

In Situ and Ex Situ Conservation Measures

open access: yes
Abstract The effects of climate change and biodiversity loss are global and not limited by national borders, with forest ecosystems, in particular, suffering under increasing pressure. To preserve and maintain species genetic diversity, well-considered in situ and ex situ measures are needed.
