In Situ Stress Measurements in Austria
1980In situ stress measurements were made at 6 locations in Austria, which were chosen in such a fashion as to yield information on the neotectonic stress in the country. Because of a strong influence of the Alpine topography, it was necessary to apply finite-element calculations for the interpretation of the field results.

In Situ Stress Measurements in Italy
1980Most of the in situ natural state-of-stress measurements have been carried out in Italy at the sites of large underground hydroelectric powerhouses and at the sites of important mines. The method successfully used was in all cases based on the measurement of the deformations caused by the stress release on the bottom of boreholes.

In‐Situ Stress Measurements in Singapore
Chinese Journal of Geophysics, 2012AbstractIn the year 2008 and 2009, in‐situ stresses were measured in 18 boreholes by the hydraulic fracturing method to determine the present‐day stress state of the shallow crust in Singapore, which provide key parameters for the design and construction of underground tunnels and data for the study of world stress environments.

In-Situ Stress Measurements during Cobalt Electrodeposition
ECS Meeting Abstracts, 2016Electrodeposited Co has attracted much attention over the past several decades owing in part to its interesting magnetic properties. These properties are largely dependent upon the structure and morphology of the electrodeposit, which can vary dramatically with overpotential, electrolyte pH, and the presence of strongly adsorbing anions.

In Situ Stress Measurements Using Cantilever Curvature
ECS Meeting Abstracts, 2014The electrodeposition community has been very active in the development of in situ stress measurements during electrochemical processing. The simplest and most widely used methods involve the measurement of the deflection of a flexible cathode, typically in a direction that is perpendicular to the in-plane stress generated in the film.

In-situ stress measurements of sputtered multilayers
SPIE Proceedings, 2010The mechanical stress induced during the growth of thin films and multilayers is a critical parameter for the fabrication of reflective x-ray optical elements. Strong stress can cause deformation of the optical surface, de-lamination of the respective coating, or even breaking of the underlying substrate. In order to characterize stress in a growing

In-Situ Stress Measurements in Southwest Germany
Tectonophysics, 1975Abstract In-situ rock stress measurements with ‘doorstoppers’ have been carried out in the Mesozoic platform of the Swabian Jura (southwest Germany). The sites of the measurements were located: 1. (1) within the Hohenzollern graben, and 2. (2) 10 km away from it.

17. Measurement of in situ Stress
1987Publisher Summary The state of stress in situ is the result of the superposition of a number of stress fields. This chapter describes the major methods of in situ stress measurement. They have been arranged in three groups: surface, near-surface, and deep methods. Surface measurements of in situ stress are those conducted directly on the free surface
