Improvement of Corrosion Resistance of 13CrMo4-5 Steel by Ni-Based Laser Cladding Coatings

open access: yesJournal of materials engineering and performance (Print), 2020
The 13CrMo4-5 ferritic steel is commonly used in power plants, due to its favorable mechanical properties. According to EN10028-2, this steel can be used at temperatures up to 570 °C because of its creep behavior.

Microstructural evolution and corrosion resistance of fusion welds on alloy CN3MN made with IN686 filler metal

open access: closedScience and Technology of Welding and Joining, 2011
Cast superaustenitic stainless steels with ∼6 wt-%Mo are used in applications requiring good corrosion resistance. However, the weld corrosion resistance is reduced due to Mo microsegregation. Ni based filler metals with higher Mo concentrations are typically used to compensate for this problem.

Environmentally Assisted Cracking Evaluation of UNS N06686 Using Constant Extension Rate Testing

Corrosion, 2011
Constant, slow extension rate tests in air and ASTM D1141 seawater were conducted on two cold worked bars of Grade 2 IN686 (UNS N06686, 125 min. yield strength) where the cold work was imparted using two different methods: conventional drawing and ...

Characterization of a manual gas tungsten arc weld overlay using Inconel 686

Transactions of the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering
Inconel 686 (IN686) is positioned well for use in overlaying applications in high-temperature corrosive environments. The objective of the present study was to understand the effect of a manual gas-tungsten arc-weld (GTAW) overlaying process of IN686 on ...

Hierarchical path-finding for Navigation Meshes (HNA*) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Path-finding can become an important bottleneck as both the size of the virtual environments and the number of agents navigating them increase. It is important to develop techniques that can be efficiently applied to any environment independently of its ...
