Anatomical repair for Kommerell diverticulum with deep site in-situ fenestration

open access: yesAsian Cardiovascular and Thoracic Annals, 2018
An 83-year-old woman with a Kommerell diverticulum was treated by anatomical endovascular repair with a deep site in-situ fenestration instead of complex debranching techniques. The main component of the thoracic stent-graft was deployed just distal to the third cervical branch to completely exclude the Kommerell diverticulum.

Experimental Evaluation of Complete Endovascular Arch Reconstruction by In Situ Retrograde Fenestration

open access: yesThe Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 2014
The aim of this experimental study was to assess the feasibility of complete endovascular arch reconstruction by in situ retrograde fenestration and to investigate the impact of stent-graft material on stent-graft fenestrations. The experiments were performed using 8 cadaveric human thoracic aortas (aortic arch) using 2 different stent-graft types ...

In Situ Laser Fenestrations of Aortic Endografts for Emergent Aortic Disease

Annals of Vascular Surgery, 2023
In situ laser fenestration (ISLF) is a novel endovascular technique which allows customization of a standard stent graft to a patient's anatomy. While most reported cases involve revascularization of the left subclavian artery (LSA), some centers have now reported their initial experience treating branches of the visceral aorta for aortic aneurysms ...

Robot-Assisted Antegrade In-Situ Fenestrated Stent Grafting

CardioVascular and Interventional Radiology, 2008
To determine the technical feasibility of a novel approach of in-situ fenestration of aortic stent grafts by using a remotely controlled robotic steerable catheter system in the porcine model. A 65-kg pig underwent robot-assisted bilateral antegrade in-situ renal fenestration of an abdominal aortic stent graft with subsequent successful deployment of a

Integration of a Custom-Made Fenestration to Simplify Acute Reno-Visceral In Situ Aortic Repair

open access: yesJournal of Endovascular Therapy
Purpose: To illustrate the technique of antegrade in situ laser fenestration (ISLF) on a predesign custom-manufactured stent-graft with single reinforced fenestration for use in emergency endovascular repair of complex abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs ...

In Situ Fenestrations for the Aortic Arch and Visceral Segment: Advances and Challenges

Perspectives in Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy, 2011
The management of complex aortic pathologies remains a major challenge particularly in the emergency setting. Bespoke fenestrated and branch stent graft technology has shown encouraging short- and mid-term results in selected patients. Despite tremendous technological advances in this field however, factors such as the inherent delay in device ...

Techniques and Results of Endovascular In Situ Arch Fenestrations

2017
Thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) has been widely applied to treat acute and chronic diseases of the aorta. Successful endovascular repair of the thoracic aorta requires adequate proximal and distal apposition of the endograft to healthy aorta.

[Advances in the fenestrated stent-graft and the stent-graft for the in-situ fenestration technique].

Zhonghua wai ke za zhi [Chinese journal of surgery], 2019
The endovascular exclusion is an effective treatment of aortic aneurysm diseases in frail and elderly patients who cannot suffer the open surgery. However, as the key treatment device of this technique, traditional stent-grafts are not suitable to treat complex aortic aneurysm diseases in emergency.

Electromagnetically Navigated In Situ Fenestration of Aortic Stent Grafts: Pilot Animal Study of a Novel Fenestrated EVAR Approach

CardioVascular and Interventional Radiology, 2017
Assess electromagnetically guided in situ fenestration of juxtarenal aortic stent grafts in an in vivo model.Using a newly developed electromagnetic guidance system together with a modified, electromagnetically guidable catheter with steerable tip, an electromagnetically trackable guidewire and a custom in situ fenestrateable stent graft, a series of ...
