Crucial parameters for precise copy number variation detection in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded solid cancer samples

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

Development and application of in-situ testing system for anisotropic deformation in loess pores

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao
In order to solve the problems of ignoring anisotropy of soils and single loading direction in the traditional in-situ soil deformation testing, a design concept of anisotropic deformation in-situ testing system for loess is proposed.

Clinching in in-situ CT—A numerical study on suitable tool materials

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Joining Processes, 2020
In lightweight design, clinching is a cost efficient joining method, especially for different joined materials and thicknesses. The quality of such a joint is usually evaluated by ex-situ destructive testing methods.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Experimental Investigation and Analysis of the Influence of Depth and Moisture Content on the Relationship Between Subgrade California Bearing Ratio Tests and Cone Penetration Tests for Pavement Design

open access: yesBuildings
Evaluation of soil properties in highway design is an important but time-consuming task that does not always provide the necessary information to detect issues associated with changes in soil properties along the road project.

The hydrogen embrittlement sensitivity of duplex stainless steel with different phase fractions evaluated by in-situ mechanical testing

open access: yesFracture and Structural Integrity, 2020
The influence of the austenite (γ) phase fraction on the hydrogen embrittlement of duplex stainless steel is investigated. Heat treatments are performed to create two duplex stainless steel specimens, containing 50% and 44% of austenite, respectively ...

In Situ Field Testing of Processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The purpose of this Analysis/Model Report (AMR) is to update and document the data and subsequent analyses from ambient field-testing activities performed in underground drifts of the Yucca Mountain Site Characterization Project (YMP). This revision updates data and analyses presented in the initial issue of this AMR.

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Investigating the Morphology and Mechanics of Biogenic Hierarchical Materials at and below Micrometer Scale

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2022
Investigating and understanding the intrinsic material properties of biogenic materials, which have evolved over millions of years into admirable structures with difficult to mimic hierarchical levels, holds the potential of replacing trial-and-error ...
