Fetal death in utero

American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1963
Abstract In 17 patients, with fetal death in utero, abortion or labor was successfully induced by the intra-amniotic injection of hypertonic saline. Although those patients with one exception were “unfavorable” for induction (closed, hard, uneffaced cervix, and little or no spontaneous activity), they were delivered in 2.7 hours on the average after ...

Fatal In Utero Salicylism

Journal of Forensic Sciences, 1985
Abstract An aspirin overdose by an eight-month primigravida proved to be the mechanism of death for the fetus. Clinical progress of the mother and postmortem concentrations of salicylate in the fetus are listed exhibiting the fetal survival time of about 18 to 20 h post ingestion by the mother.

Subdural Hemorrhage in Utero

Obstetrical & Gynecological Survey, 1985

In utero anaphylaxis

Medical Hypotheses, 2011
Late fetal demise and hypoxic-ischemic neurologic injury after previously normal in utero development remain devastating outcomes of pregnancy, for which no cause is identified in many cases. Based on a case encountered, I propose that some of these incidents may be due to in utero anaphylaxis to food antigens that cross the placenta.

In utero drug therapy

Pharmacology & Therapeutics, 1993
Drug therapy directed toward the fetus would be intended for either treating a fetal disorder or improving the capacity for later intrauterine or postnatal adaptation. Most reported trials involve single cases or small numbers of fetuses receiving the drug transplacentally after the first trimester, but before attaining maturity.

Fetal death in utero

American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1957
Abstract 1. 1. In a review of 16,057 deliveries at the Kings County Hospital 165 cases of fetal death prior to the onset of labor were found, an incidence of 1.03 per cent. 2. 2. There was no difference between the patient's history and the physical examination with regard to dating the time of fetal death. 3. 3. The patients in the study
